"Best Resort Experience We've Had"
The staff makes it at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro. The facilities are beautifully designed, the rooms are large and comfortable, the beach is fantastic, but the staff at most all all levels made our stay stand out as the best resort experience we've had in many years, and we've had many resort experiences in Latin America, Asia Pacific, etc. My wife liked that she didn't feel "processed", that the staff didn't see you as just another guest. They all know your name, learn what activities you like, what you don't like, and the service level is definitely a 5 star, with some exceptions, but they are truly exceptions. When you go, you have to look up Super Armondo...he is phenomenal and leads too many activities to count. You must also look up the gentleman who leads the archery and shooting (BB Gun) competitions...he is equally fantastic. The quality of the people is truly phenomenal, from the team working the pool and beach to keep a cold drink in your hand, the hotel Housekeeping staff who leave flower petals and towel art on your bed every day to the wait staff in the restaurants, they are fantastic. Most of the staff would be snapped up by Disney or other major corporations in the US in a heartbeat because of the quality of the customer focus and daily interaction. This resort is not cheap, but it is a value given the quality of the staff and facilities. The food is very good, the resort did not feel crowded and it was very relaxing.
