Paris, the national capital, is located roughly 100 miles (161 kilometers) to the west of La Chaussee-sur-Marne.
While it can be tempting to limit yourself to just the local sights while visiting La Chaussee-sur-Marne, don't forget, Champagne-Ardenne's diverse scenic and cultural delights await. Two examples of places within a relatively short distance of La Chaussee-sur-Marne are Saint-Eulien, 19 miles (31 kilometers) to the northwest, and Villiers-en-Lieu, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northwest.
Epernay, is another interesting spot to discover. It is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) from La Chaussee-sur-Marne and offers a great selection of attractions, such as Moet et Chandon, Perrier Jouet and Mercier. History buffs will adore the region's fabulous castles, traditional villages and old towns. If the weather isn't that great, head to Champagne-Ardenne's history museums, art museums and art galleries.
Get a different view of this region by heading skyward. Hot air ballooning is a popular pastime here.
For many of us, enjoying a new place is as much about local food as it is about taking photos of tourist attractions so don't forget to explore the dishes in the area. There are plenty of interesting dishes here. Check out andouillette de Troyes (pork sausages) or bourdin blanc (white sausage). Try a Moët & Chandon Champagne or Taittinger Champagne. These are two drinks that are common in this area.
Everything has to end, but be rest assured, when you have to say "Au revoir / À bientôt" to La Chaussee-sur-Marne, rest assured, you'll have plenty of memories and keepsakes to take home.
