Not a 4* hotel. Windows not soundproof so you get all the street noise day and night. Floor cheap laminate. Sockets loose so very hard to recharge items. Mini bar not cold. I understand some rooms are refurbished but ours was not one of them. Nearby street parking limited to 2h so it's a nightmare if you have a car Website boasts pool 10 minutes away but it's 20 to a saltwater pool complex of which only 2 of 4 are heated. Breakfast OK - discount if you tell reception the night before that you want it. A fair walk to decent selection of bars or restaurants.

Excellent location

Posted Nov 6, 2013
Pros: LOCATION
Cons: luggage service
Location: Next to everything - restaurants, busses, walk to areas, taxis nearby
Really business oriented - not your "vacation - Charming" place. Set up with computer space, organized, pleasant reception, fixed price lunch, b-fast, open for dinner, but tourists are not the priority Very difficult steps up to reception and no bellman. Not tourist luggage oriented Room was pleasant, bath had all amenities, clean, good elevators Efficient upscale hotel

Pros: Everything. We plan to stay again next year
Cons: Could change doors to bathrooms
Location: Riazor beach 5 minute walk. Park and gardens 5 minutes in opposite direction. Football stadium 10 min walk. Bars, shops, restaurants right outside
Excellent location. Very close to beach, restaraunts, shops, park. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Not for families or leisure travel

Posted Aug 11, 2013
Location: Good
Business like and lacking in warmth. Staff disinterested in holiday makers. In fact, on one occasion unnecessarily rude to our teenage son. Dirty carpets in rooms and a lack of attention to detail i.e. lamp leads hanging out, bulbs in need of replacement etc. Very dim environment, door cards kept failing, underwear left in room on towel hook.

There is no restaurant at the hotel for lunch or dinner. Breakfast is a very good continental style with plenty of choice. Book it the night before and it is 8.5 Euros, on the day it is 12.5 Euros, well worth 8.5 Euros. English speaking staff all very helpful.

I visited La Coruna in 2004 and stayed at the Hesperia. I was very impressed with them as I am still today. The staff at the reception were helpful and pleasing. The room was left clean and tidy every day. The hotel is situated in Rua Juan Florez,a stone's throw away from Riazor beach.Only 15 minutes walk(slow pace) from the town centre and about the same distance from Cuatro Caminos, where El Corte Ingles is situated. The Parque Santa Margarita and the town's Science Museum are less than ten minutes walk. The Plaza de Pontevedra, about 2 minutes walk,is surrounded by a large amount of cafes and restaurants all of them offering quality food at affordable prices. In general, La Coruna is a safe place where you could take a walk at midnight and and be able to wander around at your own pleasure for whatever purposes. The airport is only 15 minutes away by car and the railway station is the same distance by walk. I recommend a trip to Santiago de Compostela, the capital of Galicia, to visit the monumental cathedral. Trains run every hour to Santiago the Compostela and it only takes 30 minutes. All the announcements on the train are made in Galician,Spanish and English. We visited the Cathedral at Santiago on the day that many pilgrims from all parts of the world were there and joined them in mass.
