We were there for business and stayed there for four nights. Spanish eating schedule (lunch, dinner times) is quite interesting. However, the kitchen was always ready with some quick food for us. Also It was really nice to see how the staff was trying to help us with everything we ask. Reasonable prices, clean/neat rooms, very central location.
On the other hand the bed was little bit old and squeaking but that's never an issue for me.

Initially, We had only booked 1 night at the Avenida hotel as we were due to stay elsewhere further away. Our plans changed and we stayed a further 2 nights. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and booked us in immediately. The rooms we stayed in were very clean and comfortable, with everything you would need in the bathroom, including hair dryer.
The food was fantastic. Best caldo we have tasted. We would deffinately return and recommend anyone to stay there.

It has supermarket at walking distance, however, you do need a car to get to other places, but it's very difficult to park in the area. The hotel has an underground parking space;if it's not full, however, you need to be v.good at parking,as it's a tight squeeze. There is no lifts,so NO heavy suitcase.
The hotel is near a beach, you need car or find out the bus times - they are not v.frequent.
Lot's of eating places but you might want to go & shop at the supermarket & save some money,as it's quite expensive.

Yeah I know pilgims are meant to stay in 10 euro Alberges but after a long day walking and the risk of rain it was good to have a night pre booked at Casa Brandariz where we warmed up by an open fire, were served delicious home cooked food and local wine, and slept soundly in a comfy bed with en suite facilities. The next morning a more than we could eat breakfast was provided. The proprieter arranged a pick up from Arzua (we phoned him when we got there) and return the next morning.
In this part of Spain little English is spoken but the staff were very helpful and we managed to understand each other.
Overall a brilliant little part of real Spain waiting to be discovered.
