Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, and great location. Walking distance to train station, laundry and grocery. There also is a 24 hour adoration chapel next block. Staff needs to be familiar with neighborhood though. I was referred to the Post Office near the Cathedral when there was one closer to the hotel.

Excellent Stay
Stayed in Room 508 for 3 nights The reception to the hotel is on the 4th floor, accessible via lifts. Check-in was professional, with the reception staff going through an established procedure including having to fill in a form and all the basic information guests need for their stay. The room has the layout of a small flat, with a mini hallway, a separate bathroom and a room equipped with a desk, chair, TV and bed. There’s no amenities like a kettle, tea, coffee etc. The room does have a window, although there’s nothing to see as it only opens out to the atrium. The desk and chair are good enough to work on. The bed had a medium-firm spring mattress, a thick cosy blanket and one of those long pillows the Spanish seem to be so fond of. I slept comfortably every night. The bathroom had a bathtub and shower. Although I only showered, the tub was certainly clean enough to take a bath if I’d wanted. The hotel supplied liquid soap and shampoo via dispensers. Location wise, the hotel is located about 5 minutes walk to Santiago de Compostela train station as well as the Estacion autobuses de santiago. It’s about 15 minutes, mainly an uphill walk towards the main sights of the city. The hotel does offer breakfast, but there are so many cafes around the area, there’s plenty of places to eat. There’s also plenty of supermarkets around the hotel. Overall, Hostal México is a business-like budget hotel that is clean, comfortable and an excellent place to stay for several nights.

Nice place near the train station
Nice room, very clean, super comfy beds. Wish they had ice and or mini fridge in the rooms. Was a bit noisy and we could hear our neighbors voices and tv.

Good transit hotel near train / bus station
The room was clean and comfortable. Other neighborhoods may be preferable to stay if you’re a tourist, yet it’s a great spot if you’re coming from or going to the train / bus station. I had an early trip the next morning, so the location was great, as it was only a few minutes walk from the hotel to the train station. The room was also fairly spacious and it was nice to have a full tub to soak in after walking the Camino. The bathroom could’ve used a little more cleaning (there was something splattered on the wall around the toilet), and the front desk staff did their job yet could’ve been a little more welcoming, but overall the experience was positive and I would recommend this hotel to others.

A good option in Santiago de Compostela
Good hotel in a good location walking distance from main historical area. Bedroom and beds are OK, small bathroom and TV. Reception is pretty good and friendly, you can buy some coffee there. A high point is having parking for European size cars in the building, which is very convenient.

Advertised as a hotel on Expedia, but it is a hostel which is located in a very rough and run down area. I felt unsafe. Also located within a residential building. They use the top three floors. This was the second thing which didn't sit right with me. Upon arrival, I checked in with a very unfriendly porter. I didn't feel welcome at all. First impressions were already poor and this further confirmed that I wouldn't want to stay here. Was given a physical key. No four star hotel does this anymore. You have electronic swipe cards and when I got to the room, it looked so unattractive. The door couldn't be locked from the inside so I felt unsafe. Broken, old furniture, not very relaxing and appealing. Very thin walls, could hear everything from next door neighbour and what was going on in the corridor. Booked myself another hotel as I really didn't want to stay here. Went to the reception to check out and porter was very weird and odd to me because I wanted to leave. Unfortunately none refundable so I had to pay for the room but still the porter was very unprofessional and made no effort to make me feel safe or good. If he would have been nicer I would have waived at leaving a review but appalling behaviour towards customers. Porter didn't even order me a taxi. Never again!

Solid choice in Santiago
Mexico PR is a very good hotel, clean and quiet, located in the residential side of Santiago. Check-in was easy, and staff were courteous and helpful. Common areas were OK. Room and bathroom were more than adequate and well-appointed. Location is not ideal, being a good 10-15 min walk to the old town of Santiago (where the action is). But the local area provided ample places to eat and drink, and to shop. It is also conveniently located near a car rental place, and the staff helped us rent one for a trip to Lugo. Check-out was easy as well. Recommended!

8 minute walk from the Historic centre
Surprisingly good quality accommodation. Our room was on the top floor and it had a large terrace with city views. The location of the Mexico PR was very good indeed just 8 minutes (walk) to the Historic centre and surrounded by high quality shops, restuarants and bars. The hotel staff were all very helpful and polite.

Hector at the front desk was extremely helpful and supportive in assisting us in finding our way around Santiago as well as making our way to Sarria! Despite the room being small and having only one window facing the other side of the building, it was clean and comfortable and provided everything one would need for a few nights including ample closet space, a safe and good wifi. The bathroom was a nice size, good shower and very clean. The location was ideal being close to restaurants and shops and public transportation. Overall I found Mexico PR to be a great value!

Very clean and very nice property in an excellent location not that far a walk from the old town (15 mins). Rooms are a good size and look very modern including Brazilian oak flooring. Staff is very helpful and can arrange laundry service and call for taxi ‘s etc. Desk is staffed 24/7.

This hotel needs updating from its rooms, décor down to its towels. I did not enjoy my stay there. I asked to change rooms as the bathroom ceiling was mouldy. They agreed only after I said I was going to complain. It is a 7 mins walk from the train station and 20 mins walk from the Cathedral.

Nice Location. Reasonable Price
There is a small sign denoting the hotel. Fortunately, my driver--arranged ahead of my trip--knew where it was located. He also knew the lobby of the hotel is located on the 4th floor and reached by lift--elevator--fortunately. Check in was easy; my room was ready before 3p. Before checking out my room, I looked around the small lobby area that included two vending machines for coffee and snacks. (I didn't use them.) However, I did purchase reasonably priced beverages from the bar/lounge area. My room was quite spacious with two single beds, plenty of outlets for devices, hangers in the closet, a spacious bathroom with ample towels. The negative about the room is that the AC was switched to winter mode so only warm air was available. Since it was very warm outside, that required an open window instead. That was a problem late at night since the revelry began late and continued into the wee hours, but not every night. (I declined to change rooms, which probably was a mistake.) Breakfast for €5 was next door. (I choose that option once; however, that location did become a favorite neighborhood spot.) The location was a nice, relatively easy walk to the historic area of Santiago de Compostella with a number of interesting shops and parks along the way. All in all it was a good experience at a very reasonable price.

Lovely hotel
I loved this hotel, it is so nice and tidy. The staff was very nice and helpful. It's very close to the Cathedral area and is surrounded by restaurants, boutiques and supermarkets. It should be noted though that Santiago is a hilly city and can be difficult because of that; for ex: the hotel has a lift to go to reception on the 4th floor but you still have to climb steps to go up.

Good value hotel
Location was a 15min walk into the old town, but less than 10min walk to the closest bus stop for the airport. Uphill the street is. The initial entry to the hotel didn't impress, as it is shared with other occupiers of the building, but the check-in, reception, staff, room, bathroom, WiFi are all good. Quite a nice hotel.
