Hotel staff was a little creepy. Unkept. Room was clean but the door's chain was not there and the outside door handle was duct taped.

Nice, clean and comfortable

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Nice hotel, close to restaurants and shopping. Clean, nice rooms, nice pool, price is right, good breakfast.
Cons: Behaviors of some front desk staff. Stocking of breakfast items.
Location: Restaurants, shopping.
We weren't real impressed with some of the staff at the front desk and whoever was supposed to keep things stocked in the breakfast room. Stood at the front desk a long time waiting for the ONE person working to get off the phone. I was always taught to take care of the people in front of you and put the person on the phone on hold. Breakfast needs more attention. There was an empty container, no clue what was supposed to be in it. No spray for the waffle makers so they stuck horribly. Plus they were full the night we stayed and they ran out of towels. They slipped a paper under the door asking for anyone who had used towels to put them outside their door. Perhaps they should invest in more towels!! They should, at the very minimum, have enough for full hotel occupancy!

LaCrosse stay

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: I like the location. It is close to LaCrosse but also to the freeway, mall, and food. Friendly people.
Cons: It had been our favorite in LaCrosse but was looking like it needed a renovation. The chair at the desk was worn and you sat crooked in it. the hottub
Location: favorite park is Goose Island - so of city. We also like the lakeside park because you can watch the houseboats and other boats on the river
They had my reservation so there were no hassles there. We were given a clean room with frig and microwave. I would have booked his hotel because I like it but the rates had gone up and was going to look for a different one. I did the mystery deal and got the hotel I wanted. We got the handicap room which was nice because my husband has some disability. At the pool there was a sign that you had to go to the front desk to check out towels and if they were not returned you would be charged $5 each. Not sure if they would have because they didn't take our name or room number. The hot tub was only working intermittently - it was getting repairs. I was unsure about the security. The outer door didn't lock - which is convenient for getting in and out with stuff in your hands but then anyone can get in. Same with the door that goes outside from the pool

Loud

Staying on the interstate side is very load (think semis whizzing by your window at all hours). If you are a sound sleeper perhaps it would not be a problem but it was for me. The rooms were clean and breakfast was good.

Disorganized

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Organizational skills, attitude.
They came in my room while I wasn't there and moved my stuff to a different dirty room without telling me. No one at the front desk. They misplaced some of my stuff and took an hour to resolve at 4:00 AM. Bad service, unprofessional attitudes, blaming their coworkers, for their ineptitude. Never, ever stay there!!!!

Cons: No sign on the freeway telling you when to exit.
Nice hotel. A bit spendy considering the Microtel is right next door for half the price.

Should've stayed home

Posted Jun 23, 2014
If I wouldn't have complained, we would've been stuck with a room that reeked of smoke and butt. It was dirty, run down, the lamp shade was dirty yellow and crooked, wallpaper was peeling off the floor, & the phone was yellowed from apparent smoke damage. The hotel staff tried to tell me that WI has been smoke free in hotels for four years, but they obviously didn't do an upgrade to rid the smoke smell. We were moved to a much better room but the overall condition of this hotel was poor. For $20 more, we could've stayed at Stone Creek Inn, which is 200 x better.

Close to interstate. Convenient

the hotel needs a lot of updates and touch ups. Our sheets had holes in them. The mattresses were so worn that they sagged in the middle.
