Terrible hotel

This was the dirtiest and worse maintained hotel room I have stayed in. All hotels in La Junta were sold out for that night because of the bike ride event that I was participating in. Otherwise, I would have looked for another room even though the reservations were non-refundable.

I had 2 rooms booked 3 weeks in advance. We got there late at night and just wanted to go to bed. There were no curtains in the windows when we got there. The one room didn't have a shower curtain. In the morning when I tried to take a shower there was no hot water in the entire wing of the hotel. They gave us two other rooms to take showers in. Those rooms were dirty and the latches on the doors were broken. This place is an absolute dump and is managed very poorly!

Location: No near much of anything. Several blocks to any eating or shopping
The bathroom was not as clean as desired. Appearance was not like picture online. Room was dark. Staff would knock on door before 9:00 am to ask for towels to be cleaned.

No sheets on the bed, room key didnt work, tv remote died, bathroom door was stuck closed, a/c smelled like cow poo, and housekeeping barged in at 8:15am after 1 knock to collect towels even though I was leaving that morning. The lady at the front desk was nice though...

At check in I was told, were going to upgrade you to a suite. I asked what the difference was and I was told were getting a room in the remodelled wing. I'd hate to see the regular rooms, our room was large and appeared clean but the curtains are about to fall off the wall, there are water spots all over the ceiling with patches of plaster missing. but if you look at the pictures online you'd swear you were at a different hotel.

Appealing comfort

When I first walked into my room I immediately felt comfortable. The room was well stocked with supplies. Though it is apparent the furnishings have seen better days they aren't that bad. It is obvious the staff does the best with what they have. Being in La Junta they don't have the bookings of a major hotel and by consequence the revenue but they do a good job.Good internet service. A/C cooled the room down quickly. I'd stay again and have.

Clean but Shabby

Pros: The bed was really comfortable!
Cons: Shabbiness, poor upkeep.
Location: Location was fine, easy to find. It is right on a highway but traffic noise was not a problem.
Upon driving onto the property I was really worried. The outside was very shabby, unkempt and just looked old and worn out. This feeling continued into the lobby. However, when we entered out room it looked very comparable to any of the other moderately priced chains. Carpets were clean with no ragged edges or visible worn spots. The bathroom was a different story, though. It was clean but very, very shabby. Worn out looking tub and tile surround, a broken and shoddily patched place on the counter skirt and the sink was very old with peeling, cracked enamel. Also very disappointing was the fact that the indoor portion of the pool was under construction and the outdoor portion was freezing. I understand there will be remodeling/renovations necessary but nothing was mentioned in any advertising about the pool being out of commission. I was really disappointed as I had been looking forward to a swim!

Wanted to move to different hotel as soon as reservation was up. Was there working for several weeks. Fortunately only booked originally for 3 days. Then we moved. Was concerned if wheels would still be on vehicle in the morning.
