The hotel hallway smelled musty. The mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable. Something wrong with the air/heat and every time it kicked on, it made a irritating noise. Pretty run down.

Got to the Hotel admittedly one hour before check in time (2pm). Lobby empty. Nobody at front desk. Called out for someone several times but no response. Waited fully 15 minutes before someone finally showed up (not sure where they were). I've been traveling and staying at hotels for 30+ years, and this is the first time I've experienced the absentee desk clerk. Bathroom could have been cleaned a bit better. Grout on outside of tub was dirty, and my daughter complained about hair on the shower walls. Rooms on the smallish side for Hamptons that I have stayed at. No fridge in the room, but this is not uncommon for Hamptons. Aside from that, this hotel is up to the usual Hampton standards. LOVED the layout of the breakfast area. Lots of seating room and lots of room in the serving area.

The hotel was nice and clean. Staff were courteous and helpful. However, finding this hotel is a challenge. I can't find or type in the street (W Hipoint) in my GPS, even AAA had difficulty making a triptik to this place. Other people in our party also had difficulty and literally "toured" LaPorte unintentionally as I did. I went to Hampton Inn website and got directions which turned out wrong also. There is no visible sign for the hotel if you are coming from the Indiana Turnpike. I have to ask direction twice (one was ironically Best Western Hotel) to get to this place. So unless they clarify and correct their direction and put a better sign on the road, GOOD LUCK!!!!

Pros: 4 comfortable pillows on each bed - delightful, nice sheets, comfy comforter!
Cons: could not adjust air conditioning in the work-out room. it was incredibly hot in there!
The hotel staff were wonderful. The breakfast selection was awesome! 24/7 coffee, tea, and cocoa was a bonus. Rooms were clean. The bedding was great!

We used our room as a staging area between family events. It was close to toll road, very clean rooms, and quiet. My 2 children (7&4) loved the indoor pool...perfect size and depth. Highly recommend just from this...but gets better with the fresh breakfast options...will be returning soon.
