A Wonderful Visit

Pros: The staff!!! The manager, Chris, bent over backwards to make our stay a great experience. Tammy, Omar and the rest of the crew were all terrific.
Cons: The Keurig coffee maker only made one cup at a time. At busy times there could be a line waiting and supplies would run out.
Location: Nearly any shopping (Target, Costco, Kohl's) and restaurant choices (fast food, casual, gourmet) you could want are within a ten minute drive.
This hotel is like visiting the beautiful home of family or friends. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Even when something was imperfect, they went overboard apologizing and making amends. The hotel had been closed for renovations and we were among the first guests when they reopened. There were a few glitches related to the reopening but the staff's response more than made up for the inconveniences. The freshly baked flat bread pizza is an amenity every guest should enjoy at least once during their visit. Our room (and all rooms, I think) included a fireplace, very comfortable bed and sheets, oversized shower stall and his/hers sinks, and a beautiful view of Lake La Quinta. We were there for the Indian Wells tennis tournament and the Chateau is only about 2 miles away. The hotel even offered upgraded courtside seats at the tournament.

If only we got to find out what the hotel was like

We booked this hotel in August 2014 for our 50th wedding anniversary and were looking forward to our special holiday. 5 months later, January 2015, we were informed that they had double booked and our reservation was cancelled. This was only 5 weeks before our holiday. We were extremely disappointed and we then had to find another hotel as flights were already booked. By this time there were not so many to choose from so had to accept one which we would not normally have chosen. I don't know whether the fault is with the hotel or Expedia.

We are so sorry we did not have the opportunity to host you on your very special occasion. We experienced 2 1/2 months of major construction delays during our comprehensive room renovation and addition project. We did not feel it was appropriate to open in January and have noise and workers in close proximity to hotel guests infringing on their experience. We decided to reopen only when our guests could enjoy The Chateau to the fullest. Please accept our sincere apology for your inconvenience and disappointment.

Great place

We went to the Chateau for an overnighter for our anniversary, and it was a perfect place to go and rest and recuperate from the stress of everyday life. Great service, beautiful rooms, great food. Love the wine bar. It felt European and cozy. It felt like a real getaway, with great scenery and ambiance.

Me and Wife weekend getaway. Everything went well, Chris met us and showed us the property. He was Very Helpful. We plan on returning in two months. Great place for a Nice Relaxing-Romantic getaway! We was Very Satisfied with this property. If I had one request it would be that a coffee pot in rooms.

almost perfect

My husband and I went here for a romantic getaway. The scenery was beautiful, staff was friendly, food was good. Fireplace and balcony were beautiful. When I got home however, I found I had two charges on my card separate from the room. One was for dinner which we expected, one was for a wine card we never used. The hotel staff corrected the problem without a fight which is why they still received four stars but had I not checked my account I would have never realized we were charged for a service we never used; despite that, I still recommend them.

My Wife and I went here for our 4 Year Anniversary and we loved it. We will probably make this our annual Anniversary Get away weekend. Chris and Mike were awesome! The room was great! The food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and look forward to making our return visit!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two night while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Such a great atmosphere! A great little place! Very unique - only 13 rooms. 24 hour access to the pool made for very nice night swims. Our room sat right on the lake with great view. We had a fireplace ( though not needed for the summer months ), a ceiling fan, and even a door that was screened for the porch, so you could open it if you wanted to listen to the lake and fountain. To the front of the hotel was the hills. The Chateau had breakfast, a bar that was opening in the evening as well. Walking distance to some nice little restaurants. The staff was GREAT. Very polite, friendly, and willing to answer any questions, or take time if something was needed. We are planning future trips to Joshua Tree again and have every intention of staying here again! Was well worth it and look forward to returning. ( rarely do I leave ratings, but felt like this place deserved a great review! )

The staff is excellent. The room was clean. The only issue was that since it was 110 deg, the flies wanted to be in the room. Once we killed most of them everything was great. We will stay there again. Very relaxing.
