Arcachon Golf Club and Port d'Arcachon are among the many other interesting sights here that should be included on every visitor's to-do list.
A great way to really understand an area is by knowing about its past. Make the time to visit the old towns while you are in the area. If you want to stay indoors, you can't beat Aquitaine's excellent art galleries, nature museums and history museums. These are great spots to learn a little about the local lore and culture and perhaps find a unique souvenir or two.
Try some of this region's most popular cold weather activities. Do as the locals do and have a go at cross-country skiing here. Snowboarding is also popular.
