Excellent choice for a short stay.
Posted Jan 28, 2013
Pros: Location, cleanthiness.
Cons: No bad things
Location: Perfect, next to Interstate 65.
A perfect location right next to I65. Also many restaurants are minutes away. The hotel completely met our expectations and we already made reservations for our next trip to town. This is not a four star hotel, but perfect for our needs and a great value.

Good room for the price
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Comfortable Bed
Cons: Not warm hot tub
Location: Convenient location close to lots of restaurants and stores
Bed was comfortable, which it seems many chains at a similar price to LaQuinta are not as comfortable. Rooms was spacious, not cluttered with excess furniture (other places think a huge ottoman in front of the chair is necessary). Couple of items that may need attention, but not deal breakers for me: Shower head was not great, sprayed all different directions, Hot Tub in the pool area was FAR from hot, barely warm, slightly warmer than the pool.

Professional and friendly staff
Posted Jan 25, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness and comfort, wonderful staff, excellent location
Cons: Can't think of any!
Location: Excellent - right off Interstate
My husband and I stayed there and our friends stayed in the room next door. We all were very pleased with everything about the hotel, especially for the rate we paid. It was exceptionally clean, we had a nice breakfast and the staff was wonderful. There was a short power outage in the area for a few hours and they handled it well. The next day there was a very rude guest who was loud and demanding, but the clerk handled him very professionally. We were there for three nights and enjoyed our stay. We plan to return to the area next year so the husbands can golf and plan to stay at La Quinta.

Very Poor Value
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: The parking was free, like every other hotel in the area. The building did not collapse on us.
Cons: Room was much too warm for my comfort and I could not change the temperature. The water was too cold for a shower.
Location: Location is easy to find and close to a good store.
Furniture was soiled. Vanity counter was not cleaned. The temperature control did not work. I could not lower temperature in the room to a comfort level for sleeping even though the outdoor temperature was in 40's F. The shower was with chilly water, no hot water. Overall it was not a comfortable room and I did not sleep well. I have stayed numerous times in two other Lafayette hotels in past two years and this was by far the worst, even though it is sold in a similar price range.

Green pool and funky smells disappointed
Posted Jan 25, 2013
Pros: The king size bed is very comfortable!
Cons: The green, moldy pool. That was a huge disappointment. The smell of pool chemicals and old breakfast also aren't anything to write home about.
Location: Really easy to get to from I-65 with a TON of great restaurants within 10 minutes. Maybe a 10 minute (with traffic) drive from Purdue. Go Hoosiers!
I have to admit that I normally prefer to stay La Quinta Inns. I have had pretty great service previously with the establishment. So when I went to stay in one in West Lafayette, I was pretty sure what to expect. However, I felt a little underwhelmed with this particular one. We gambled and took a room at a cheaper price and wouldn't you know it, we were placed right next to the elevator and check-in table (we could see the front desk from our peephole!). So the noise was a bit much, especially for the light sleeper. However the king bed was very comfortable and the room was quite cozy. We were told about a pool and spa, but the water was very green. I put my legs in, hoping it was just a reflection from the roof, but could not see my feet past my kneecap. Gross. Both the spa and pool were heavily chlorinated, so if you have sensitive skin, take a pass. Because of the chemicals, the hallway had a foul, moldy smell. Now I am the first to admit I like "hotel pool" smell, but not when it reminds me of a bunch of wet dogs. Other than the elevator noise and funky smell in the hallways, the actual room is an average place to just rest your head for the night. If you are looking for something more (or spending more time in the room), keep on looking 'cause this ain't it.

The mattress is too soft that I feel like sinking into something. It is very noisy due to the closeness to the highways.
