Great Hotel

This hotel was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the price economical. We will defiantly stay here the next time we're in town.

1 night at Lafayette

Hotel was quite easy to locate and is about 3 miles out of the centre of the town. We arrived early but were able to get checked in just after lunch. There were a few fast food places near the hotel. Friendly staff, nice room, small pool with seating/ barbecue area. Breakfast ok, but not as good as Hampton Inns. Fortunately we stayed on a Friday night and enjoyed free concert in the town, otherwise difficult to say what Lafayette has to offer.

Take off your hotel listings

Very poor management and service. Rooms very comfortable, maids did excellent cleaning, and staff was helpless to correct management style. We arrived at 7 pm after a long day of travel to find our room was not ready at all. I had to call hotels.com to get them to call the hotel. We were not the only ones whose rooms were not ready. There were 4 other families and a large school group who all were told our rooms were not ready around 7 pm the day of arrival. They did get them done within about 1 1/2 hours. This was very disappointing and unheard of for us. The hotel itself was nice, good location and very quiet and comfortable. The day after the hotel did not have rooms ready in the evening for guests again as there was a line waiting to check in. Poor management style! You should not list this hotel on this site until they change their management. Desk staff were overwhelmed with trying to help guests every evening.

Disappointment

The hotel, upon arrival, was unprepard for check-ins of several people, including us. We had to wait for a good hour for our room to become available even though we arrived well after the 3:00pm check-in. Was not impressed that they did not offer maid service, not even to empty the trash. I could live without having the sheets changed (however, that is one of my favorite things about staying in a hotel...clean sheets every night) but did not like not having clean towels readily available. I have stayed at other Staybridges before and had very good experiences, this was not one of them.

Must have caught them on a bad day

I arrived at Staybridge Suites at about 11pm on Friday, May 2 after booking through hotels.com. The lobby was full of people waiting for their rooms because they didn't have enough cleaned rooms to accommodate everyone. It was well after midnight (more than an hour later) before I was given a key to my room. The room, itself, was fairly clean, although it was evident that the bathtub had not even been rinsed, let alone cleaned. Absent those 2 issues, the stay would have been very positive. The staff was friendly (although clearly overwhelmed by the situation), rooms were spacious, the fitness facilities were clean, and the complimentary breakfast looked nice.
