Close to Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. Great staff and beautiful facility. Rooms are showing age but overall very comfortable

You had to drive down the street for the so-called heat pool. No towels. Food choice very limited. If you stayed in the main hotel upstairs very hard to climb stairs to your room. No elevator. Staff was very helpful.

This property is OK considering it is an old hotel that has been remodeled AND (maybe most importantly) there really aren't any other lodging options in this area. It is not close to a 4-star experience, but what choices do you have when staying in this area?

The Lajitas Resort was nice but overrated. The resort in itself has a very unique design and the location surrounded by the mountains is outstanding. Amazing sunset views. However, the rooms where we stayed and the pool are across the street from the main property. The rooms were spacious but the bathrooms were not up to par for the type of hotel that it is and the price. All the activities in the resort are additional. Not sure why they call themselves a resort. We did not golf but a lot of people go there for the golf. We went there because of the proximity to Big Bend. The food in the restaurants is not very varied and expensive for what it is. My son saw a mouse in the pool.

If you are going to Big Bend this property is convenient. We ate in the restaurant and it was very good with a nice view. We used the general store and there is a gas station… of which there are very few in the area. We didn’t golf or take advantage of the other offerings. The WiFi was good the beds were probably the reason I didn’t give it a very good , they are not horrible but a bit soft and lumpy.

This property would be our #1 choice again if we came back to this area. We golfed, hiked, rode horse plus we ate at their bakery and their restaurant 3 times. Everything was above par. This place is a hidden gem!!!

Staff was amazing. We upgraded our room upon arrival and the upgraded room had some technical issues. The staff relocated us to another room without blinking an eye and walked us thru the room to ensure we were happy 5 star staff

This place is not as nice as it used to be. We stayed in the Calvary rooms, and they need a makeover! Enjoyed the pizza from the Boardwalk Bakery and Pizzeria but tried to get a cinnamon roll the next morning and the lady working said she forgot to defrost the cinnamon rolls. Both nights we were there we were woking up by noisy guests next door. The first night we had a knock at our door and the second night they were arguing and slamming doors. Disappointed because I really like this resort.

Everything was great but had one issue. The menu for Candalia Cafe was wrong and I was really looking forward to what I saw on the online menu.

Great GolF! Not so great "Resort"
The resort is like 3 separate experiences. 1. The golf course, Black Jack's Crossing, is just stunning. A great course, beautiful setting, a jewel in Texas golf! I'd play it again at the going rate in a second. Fantastic! 2. The rooms and resort itself were "fine". The room was clean and comfortable but you notice things that are not well maintained. Like bathroom sink was rusting through, the shower doors has holes in them where the grab bars used to be. The freezer is M/L frosted over. 3. The food was borderline terrible!!. At the Bar the menu had 2 pages but the only thing available was fries and hot dogs and a sub sandwich. The fries came drenched in a gallon of queso, the sub sandwich (finally) came, ice cold, and we didn't try the hot dogs. Breakfast the next morning at the Restaurant was buffet or cooked to order so we went for cooked to order. The eggs were cold and runny, no butter on the toast (or the table) and the sausage didn't show so they brought some from the buffet (that we were avoiding!) until a sausage patty that came out, silver dollar sized and rock hard (and somehow still seemed undercooked). The next day at the Coffee/Cafe place, the breakfast burrito was I'm 95% positive yesterday's reheated buffet eggs and bacon. Passable but not very good. Coffee was good but basically they managed to screw up breakfast twice and basic bar food once. All in all I'd rate the golf course a 10, the room a 5 and the food a 1. Go for the golf, stay elsewhere.

Beautiful. Activities man was so nice and helpful. Just felt like the food and general store was overpriced because there were no other options. $14 for a case of water is a little crazy.

Lajitas is a great place to stay when visiting Big Bend National/State Parks and Terlingua. The restaurants were very good. Our room could have use some updating but certainly clean and comfortable.

Nice place
We needed a place to stay while visiting Big Bend NP. The decor of the hotel is charming. The beds were really comfortable. My only complaint would be the lack of an elevator or assistance taking our luggage up and downstairs. The hotel has supper high ceilings and my friend and I are women in our 60s. I can climb steps, but not with 40lbs of luggage.

Absolutely overpriced for what you get. Room was smelly, fireplace did not work, feeling the deterioration of the building. Washing machine in Condo out of order. Several choices on the dinner menu not available. Not even a decent breakfast is included. Staff was friendly and doing their best but overall the hotel was understaffed

Very cool rustic TX property, but rooms were very dated and needed to be upgraded. Restaurant and bar were great with fantastic views. We were able to rent a golf cart and ride around the course one afternoon, very beautiful.

Awesome Staff!
The staff was friendly from the front desk to the restaurant and ground keepers. The adjacent RV park staff was helpful with information about the hikes. We really loved the family of Zipline staff. The mother Christina, her sons and husband. They were awesome guides. Patient, attentive and friendly. Beautiful scenery from every angle.

Restaurant was very nice. However, they were not able to accommodate a first floor room even though the place was empty. Also, construction was going on across from our room; starting early in the morning. They should have told us about that when we checked in.

Super friendly staff, safe & quiet (sometimes we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves), amazing golf course, and near Big Bend! The food was pretty average, but considering the convenience compared to what else is available in the area, it was more than fine. The general store down the road actually serves some pretty good food and plenty of drink/snack options. We were also so glad they had a pet friendly room, and many staff said hi to our dog and made us feel welcome. The golf course staff were super friendly and helpful to us since we were beginners, so even if you're not a golfer make sure to play at least part of the course, it's definitely worth it!
