“Couples French Getaway”

The hotel is very close to the train station so it is an easy walk with luggage. The wifi worked better here than any where else we stayed on our trip. We had an end room had a slanted roof and a nice skylight over the bed and in the bathroom. Our room was comfortable for two. Not as big as an American hotel, but none of them are. Some of the rooms I passes though that they were cleaning looked smaller than our room. So I think we got lucky. Would stay there again. The staff was great and spoke English well.

What a nice surprise in a wonderful town. Parking and breakfast and location make this a superb choice even for a one night stay.

“Great hotel in a beautiful city!”

This hotel is very cozy, the staff are friendly (not great English speakers), the bathroom was large and perfectly clean. The room itself was tiny, but we expected that. The hotel was very quiet - great night rest! It is also located very very near the train station...3 minute walk, which we were pleased about. Only downfall is that it is not located near the lake or the old town, but after a short 10-15 minute walk, you are in the heart of Annecy. I would definitely stay there again.

“Nice hotel, free internet on site”

This is a nice hotel with 24 hour bar service, nice rooms, a lift, and free internet use in the lobby. The staff is very friendly. It's about 5 min. walk from the lake which is gorgeous. 5 min. walk from the train but still in a nice area. Cheap shopping here. Great town. Visited six cities this trip from Amsterdam to Venice. This is only 1 of 2 cities I will definitey return to. My favorite of the trip. Try the Adelscott beer!

“Hotel Allobroges--no better place to stay in Annecy!”

Hotel Allobroges is warm and inviting, especially for a tired business traveler. The accomodations are classy, clean, and enjoyable with enough closet space for several weeks winter clothes, if you happen to be traveling during colder weather. In addition, I would recommend enjoying the breakfast availabe in the hotel restaurant--plenty of variety and an excellent start to the day! The location can't be beat as you are within walking distance to old-town or down-town and the local Gare is quite close as well, in case you need to catch a bus. The staff is quite pleasant and very accomodating to those of us who may not parley too much Francais--very helpful! Highly recommend you choose this as your home away from home!

“Rave review for Allobroges Hotel in Annecy, France”

We were on a quick weekend holiday from Geneva, where we live, and we wanted a nice hotel with character (i.e., not part of a chain). We chose the Allobroges and were extremely pleased. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The room - while tiny - was well equipped, clean, modern and comfortable. The only lack was a minibar. The parking lot at the hotel was full, so the Allobroges management had made arrangements for guests to use the public parking lot just behind the hotel. The old section of Annecy was a 10 minute walk from the hotel, down pedestrian-only streets. We would recommend this hotel to our friends.

“Great hotel”

Stayed at the Allobroges for 5 nights in Sept 2008. Rooms were reasonably sized by European standards. The hotel seemed to have been recently remodeled. The rooms were impeccably clean. Nice decor, small flat screen TV, excellent breakfast. Wireless internet worked only in lobby, but staff provided a wired internet connection in my room upon request. The staff was courteous and efficient. Location was great, next to train and bus station and the main shopping district, a few blocks from old city and the lake. Despite its location, the hotel was very quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

“Bike storage and parking, central location”

We were traveling with bikes and the staff were very helpful arranging for storage of the bikes. The hotel is centrally located allowing us to walk to the "Old Town" and pretty much anywhere we wanted to go in Annecy. There is parking there but you need to reserve a spot ahead of time. There is also public parking nearby but twice the price of the hotel parking. The bed was king sized and very comfortable. Bathroom was newly renovated and the shower worked very well. Breakfast was generous with lots of choices including cheeses, yogurt, soft-cooked eggs, croissants, baguettes, cereal, juice, fruit, etc. We would stay there again if visiting Annecy.

“Friendly hotel staff, small but good accomodations”

Nice hotel. The room was as expected, with a sloped ceiling. We felt a bit like we were staying in an attic (which I guess we were). But otherwise a very nice experience and very pleasant staff. A short walk to the center of town.
