“Very Nice stay!”

This is the second visit to the area. My first visit I stayed with another hotel just down the road, needless to say I felt the need to ty a new hotel. I loved staying at the Holiday Inn it was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. My next trip to the area I will be staying at my new home away from home!

“Poor Service at Desk during day”

When we first got to our room we were overcome by the smell of smoke... picked up the room phone to contact the front desk..no dial tone. We went downstairs and when I mentioned phones had no dial tone, Sylvia's initial response was "are you sure" with a "look" and she said she would send maintenance. She seemed ready to dismiss us when I asked if we were in a non-smoking room because the smell of smoke was rather heavy. She started going on about how it was a smoke free facility and they fined people that smoked in the room, etc..in a defensive tone. She then asked if we wanted to speak to a manager who could assure us that it was non-smoking....still not a solution just insistence. We agreed, waited 10 mins. & hoped the manager would go to our room to smell it themselves. Thank goodness for the maint. gentleman who greeted us with a smile. Though only aware of 1 concern he fixed both in a jiffy with cheerful reassurance as I told him that we just didn't want to be accused of smoking in the room even though the smell probably just lingered from visitors that frequented the casinos. He simply sprayed the air filter & from then on it smelled like a tropical retreat. The front desk person's customer service skills are very important as they set the tone of one's stay. Seeing Sylvia during the day just reminded us of her inability to address concerns in a manner that provides a solution and isn't condesending. Unfortunately, we will probably never stay at another Holiday Inn.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn South was very enjoyable. Very clean and a very relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub very much.

Hotel was built in 2009. Rooms are very clean and quiet. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. There was an on site bar and resturant that served very good food and a very reasonable price. Over all, we were very impressed and would recommend it to anyone.

Hotel is brand new and spotless. Rooms are very comfortable and quite. Staff was extremely curteous and helpful. I would definetly stay there again.

“Our new place to stay in Lake Charles”

The suite was very clean and comfortable. Parking is free and the location is close to casino and restaurants and shopping . Only negative in our multi-night stay was the false alarm fire alarm at midnight and having to walk down 4 flights of stairs with a cast on my leg. The staff and security were quick to respond and the Fire Department was on site very quickly.

Highly recommend for the value, rates in Lake Charles in general are overpriced inexplicably.
