“Congratulations to the staff”
I've just returned from a 5-day stay at the Hotel Borgovico, and the first thing to say is that the front-desk staff at this hotel were truly superb. In fact I don't think I've come across more helpful ones in any hotel I've ever visited. The cleaning staff deserve credit too, this being a very clean and tidily kept establishment. The building itself is just a 5 minute walk from the Como San Giovanni train station, down a little side street. It's similarly no more than a 5-minute stroll to the lakeside, and about a 10-minute walk from the town centre. It's therefore pretty handily placed. And very reasonably priced too. All in all, a very nice place to stay, and I'd gladly go there again.
“Good place to stay in Como”
I was very pleased with this hotel and would gladly stay there again. First, the staff were great. They were very helpful, responsive, and friendly. The location is good, just a short walk from the train station and a few blocks from the main attractions in the city. The neighborhood is not the greatest but it's not bad, and there are good local restaurants close by. My room was clean and modern, with a modern updated bathroom. The breakfast was one of the better layouts I had while in Italy, with eggs, meats, and cheeses to go along with the typical cereal and pastries. The staff will happily make you an espresso or cappuccino to go with breakfast. My one caution is that if you are a solo traveller try not to get room 103, which has a view of the stairwell. Oh, and it needs a light over the desk.
“Great hotel”
What a find! Good value for money and the manager (Lino, I think his name is) was so helpful and nice to us.
“Great value with friendly service”
Good location, a few minutes walk from the lake edge and close to the San Giovanni station where we arrived from Milan. Rooms were simply furnished but very clean and comfortable. Bathroom seemed newly refurbished. There was free wi-fi in the breakfast room/reception area but not in our room. Continental breakfast was available until 10am with a reasonable selection. Rino on reception was extremely helpful in recommending bars and restaurants and other local information.
“Lake Como stay”
The staff were very friendly. The room was quiet. The breakfast was quite nice. The location was quite good, close to the train station and the lake.
