Nice enough, shame about the busy road

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: View Staff
Cons: Breakfast Room fittings could do with modernising.
Location: No pavements outside, but cross the road down an alleyway and you're at the lake. Short walk to shop and restaurant.
Didn't realise when we booked that this is mainly used by people on coach tours staying 1 or 2 nights. Breakfast got a bit boring after a couple of days - continental only, but with boiled eggs as extra. Rooms were clean enough, and have to say the bed was very comfy. The staff were the best thing - very friendly and helpful, always happy and smiling - they were great. The walk from the hotel is pretty dangerous, but the view from our balcony made up for that! You have to book a lake view! Underground parking was a godsend too. Overall, a decent enough hotel for a short break.

Average average average.

Very average hotel with very basic facilities. Equivalent to a travelodge in UK but with a TV that doesn't work. Very expensive stay considering the standard of the hotel. Would not want to go back.

Stunning views

We paid extra for a lake view and this was definitely worth doing; the view was stunning. The balcony was not huge but enough to sit out on. The pool was quite small but still adequate. The staff were very helpful, even helping us to book a private boat hire on the lake. All the staff spoke English very well. We used the hotel restaurant on our last night and food was quite nice. Others have commented about the walk along a busy road; we also found this hair-raising at first but once you got over this it is a safer than it looks. I guess that the lack of a footpath is the main downside. We didn’t pay for parking, so parked in a free car park near the hotel (probably better to pay extra for the parking). Breakfasts were reasonable, standard continental with the addition of boiled eggs.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Not the most luxurious hotel, but it does the trick and is in a good central location. Breakfast and wifi are included, which is great. Parking was also very cheap and having a car in the area was nice.
