Excellent hotel
Verry good hotel. Free upgrade to a suite. Verry good breakfest. Quiet in the night. Special thanks to Sofia. She gives us good advice about buses. She speaks english, german and italian.

We stayed about a week. The staff and its cleanness are what gave the Property a leading edge. Sofia makes excellent Cappuccinos and Americano Coffees which made me totally addicted to. Natalia is an incredibly friendly and professional. She was very helpful. I would recommend the place to everyone and would go back next time I am in Como.

The hotel is not in a nice area, but it’s good enough if you don’t mind walking into the old town. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great coffee and breakfast. Rooms are very clean. Only downside is that the pillows are too hard for us.

Stayed 1 night, no complaints. Good hotel to stay in if you have a car as easy to drive to, on site parking & 10min walk to the town centre. Basic but clean. Very basic breakfast.

Good stay
It was a good stay there. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly. Dionus was very helpful and welcoming, especially. But the location is an inconvenience.

Lovely hotel
A lovely little hotel close to the old town. Useful parking for €10, but you must book in advance. Great, large rooms in excellent condition and a large choice of continental breakfast options: breakfast was free. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great hotel and good value, would reccomend it !
Our stay at the Lizard Hotel was really good. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in the old part of Como in a quiet street which overlooked the hills of Como. Our room on the top floor was spacious with a nice balcony where we could sit and relax. The hotel Wi-Fi was very good and always available. The restaurant was excellent providing a free breakfast and a 3 course evening meal for 15 Euros. All in all a very good hotel at a good price, would not hesitate to stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located and has good service. My room on the third floor was a basic double--nothing special other than good wi-fi and a small fridge/minibar. Small but fine for my purposes, with a view of the mountains. The third floor is nice because there is a common sitting area lit by a skylight. Easy parking in the hotel lot.

Quiet friendly location
We were pleased to be welcomed by very friendly staff in this quiet location in Lake Como. The room was simple but clean. The restaurant offers a 3 course dinner for 15 euros which was delicious and beautifully plated. Breakfast offered lots of choice in baked goods as well as cereals, meats and cheeses. As well as very good regular coffee, they offered to make espressos and cappuccinos. It is about a 15 minute walk to the centre of town but worth the trade-off for a quiet and very reasonably-priced welcoming hotel.

Hotel Lizard is a bit far from the train station. The room setup was the best we encountered, although the hide-a-bed mattress was not the best. Excellent and affordable meals are available onsite. Would stay there again.

Staff is helpful and friendly, room clean and spacious, and the breakfast a very pleasant surprise. Within walking distance to old town. Need to take a bus to the train station tho.

Quiet hotel during the day, but with noisy air conditioning near some rooms at night. Long walk to Lake shore, unless you find out about buses. Breakfast reasonable buffet.

A lovely hotel with very helpful & friendly staff
Our room was a good size and kept very clean by the chambermaids. We ate in the restaurant every day. Breakfast was a feast: everything you could imagine (even chocolate cake!). Our breakfast set us up for a hard day of sightseeing! We ate our evening meal at the hotel almost every night, mainly because they produced a very interesting, tasty and varied menu every day. The staff were always on hand to answer our questions, suggest interesting places to visit and generally make our stay a very happy time.

We were on our way to Switzerland and found this place close to the train station and booked it. It is a bit difficult to find the place (esp the reception) in the night but shouldnt be an issue in the morning. Room was OK. Since we were there for just one night, no big complaints. Served the purpose I guess. Neighborhood is good and location is good. Room had nice views. Breakfast wasnt great but you may grab something to eat to keep you until lunch. Place is close to the bus stop - bus 8 (faster) and bus 1 takes you to the Como S Giovanni station.

we booked this last minute. It is conveniently located and has parking on the premises (at an additional cost EUR12/night). The rooms were clean but very basic. It worked well for us for one night stop over in Como - when we arrived late and left after breakfast. Staff allowed us to leave our car in the parking for the morning whilst we explored Como with what little time we had. Internet worked and it was about 5 mins walk to the outskirts of the old city. A really nice hotel
It was a great one. Really pretty hotel, architecturally, and great service-wise. Great people at reception, really nice owner, delicious breakfasts. Good location. Hard to find for foreigners who don't speak Italian (embarrassed to say)...though not sure what could be done to make it easier. It's on what is almost like an alley and pretty dark.

Nice, clean hotel
We stayed overnight at the Hotel Larius. The staff is very nice and the hotel was clean and well kept. The surrounding neighborhood is a little run down and was the only drawback, but the hotel grounds themselves were secure and they had a nice car park. It was about a 15 minute walk to the waterfront. We would be willing to stay there again.

happy with my stay
If youre anticipating a basic hotel then the Larius is a good value. The staff was friendly and helpful and the building did have its charm. its about a 15 min walk straight to the waterfront. We were there only one night and were pleased with our time there.

the hotel was sort of weird looking, very modern, ugly furniture, which detracted from the beautiful area around it. the staff were fairly helpful. the website had no information on how to actually get to the hotel, so we wandered around a bit and had to ask around to find it. hotel como might be easier than this one. the one thing we really loved was the free wifi and the restaurant underneath the hotel. it's about a 15-20 minute walk to the main shops/waterfront, which i highly recommend hanging out around. overall, i would not highly recommend the hotel, maybe try hotel como, but it was still a decent stay.

The hotel is a longer walk from the lake and town than it suggests however if you have a car it is in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was kept claen and tidy.

This hotel is a great base for visiting Como, granted you dont wake up to a view of the lake, but the 20 min walk into town is well worth it. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was cleaned well each day and hotel was airy and clean. The only disappointment is the breakfast . . if you like cheese and ham everyday you will be ok, but if not you will have a bit of problem. Would return to this hotel definetely.

The hotel was ok, nothing special. Eating the same things for breakfast every morning was a bit bland. The hotel at night is very noisy due to the tiled floors and wooden chairs with no rubber ends on the legs. You can hear every movement. The iron spiral stair case going right up through the hotel echos immensely and sleep was disturbed on more than one night. im sure for the price we paid there are better hotels out there. just to put this in perspective im not one to complain ever and let allot of things go in everyday life, but effecting sleep on a holiday... tut tut.
