We had a great experience at the Hotel Trezo Crotto, enjoying its old world charm and an authentic European environment. You may find the rooms smaller than you are used to if you are Canadian, but that is what you find in Italy. The staff was friendly and accommodating, including the sweet old Labrador Retriever on site! We were always looking for her. The restaurant on site was also fantastic. The food was very good on all the items, and we ate there on 2 evening occasions. It is also a short walk to the Piers, shops and the bus stop. We highly recommend this hotel.

The family that runs the property is so lovely and the area around it is beautiful. The restaurant is delicious and and it’s an easy walk to the ferry. It is definitely not modern but has a rustic, old school feel. If you are looking for modern, this isn’t it- but it is a charming place.

This was our second stay at this hotel. It is nicely located, close enough to Como but away from the traffic and noise. Walking distance to the lake and few restaurants around the area. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast could use a couple of hot items. My biggest complaint is the smoke smell. It’s gotten worse since the last time we stayed there.

We stayed here for 4 nights to visit Lake Como did not meet expectations on cost for condition of hotel, rooms.etc. We ordered on arrival a coke and small beer which was €10 ... on reading other reviews of steaks and specials items being charged at around €95 euro each we decided not to dine in the restaurant during our visit as other tourists said they felt they were taken advantage of on cost for quality of food. Disappointing overall.

Good comfortable, clean hotel
Good hotel, comfortable, clean, good location. Not on lake like some of the other hotels in the area and no pool, but great hotel to use as a base while exploring local area without blowing the budget. Easy access to ferry which will take you to Como and up the lake to other towns such as Bellagio and Varenna.

Lots of character and very freindly staff
Terzo Crotto was lovely, the building had a lot of character and it's in a great location just a short walk from the town. Staff were very freindly and helpful, breakfast was good and I loved the seats in the grass out front in the sun

Quiet Location with Good Parking
We chose this hotel for its proximity to Como and the availability of parking (we had two bikes loaded on the car and wanted them close). The hotel staff were helpful. We enjoyed a complimentary coffee during our check in process. It was easy to walk into town for lunch or dinner, or jump on the local transit bus to get to Como (or an easy bike ride). The room was comfortable with a double bed, extra pillows, a wardrobe, and a decent size bathroom with a good shower (although lacking decent shelf space to set my toiletries bag). A hair dryer and small sachets of shower gel were provided. Our night view was very pretty, seeing the lights of the houses up the hill. Our car was parked within view of our room (free parking).

Foodie in Lake Como
The hotel is perfect in that you can enjoy the sites but are far enough away from the hustle and bustle to get a good nights sleep. The best bit though it the restaurant where the food is amazing. One of the reasons that returned and will return in the future.

Nice and cosy,they were very nice to accomodate my early arrival. Nice overall atmosphere but the wifi connection not very good. Breakfast seved only starting at 8 when i had to leave to my meetings at 7.30...so too bad for me

Will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel. Sergei was so welcoming and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Restaurant was excellent - amazing food and wine. Good location. Great base for a cycling trip.

Beautiful location with easy access to Lake Como
A most enjoyable weekend stay in this quiet, beautiful location away from the centre but with easy access to Cernobbio and Como. Sergio and the rest of the hotel staff were very friendly,helpful and accommodating from the outset e.g. agreeing arrangements for a late night return. The Superior rooms were nicely furnished, WIFI connected easily and we slept well in the relaxing setting. The breakfast was excellent and our one regret was that we weren't able to try the highly rated restaurant because of family commitments elsewhere. Definitely worth a return visit.

A hidden treasure
We booked this hotel based on the location by proximity of family staying at a nearby apartment. This hotel was a hidden treasure, and the rooms was massive! A beautiful spot just by lake como - this is a brilliant hotel to choose. We travelled with a 7 month old baby and the room was perfect and quiet for us.

This stay was in the off season so maybe the rating would be different in summer. Be prepared to be assaulted with cigarette smoke and smell. Upon arrival the reception desk was not manned so we had to find someone. This was not easy! Someone was back in a office watching TV and after many calls of hello they came out. The place is very dated and shabby. But the room and bathroom.were very clean. The room description said there was a safe in the room but the language barrier could not get this across When we asked for a local town map we were told " finished" breakfast was ok, bread, yogurt, hard cooked eggs. Great coffee. One more comment about the smoke smell, it was very strong in the bedroom as if someone was smoking next door. Given the lack of help and upkeep we opted not to try the restaurant and walked into town.

Nice find next to Lake Como
We stopped here as a base to cycle around Lake Como. The staff were very friendly, and the facilities nice. Loved the hotel dog :)

We had nice hospitality, but the bathroom was pretty smelly. The hotel looks a bit old. The location is nice, and it is easy to travel to como by bus (10 min)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Terzo Crotto. The personalized service was without compare. We had one of the best dinners in Italy in their dining room. We definitely would go back .

Hotelkamer schoon maar het gehele gebouw is erg outdated qau inrchting. We hebben bij het hotel gegeten waar we de prijs voor een sterrenrestaurant hebben betaald terwijl de kwaliteit erg onder de maat was. Menu kaart was alleen online in te zijn bij het hotel maar de link er naar toe werkte niet, snap nu waarom.
