Bellagio - end of the seasonPosted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: The view from the lake view room was spectacular and the food was the best we had in 5 weeks of travel.
Cons: A lift would be great!
Location: The lake is simply 'gorgeous' and the villas and autumn gardens are spectacular.
Actually a very nice hotel in a pretty town. The service, professionalism and presentation of the staff is first class and the owners were quite chatty and helpful. It was definitely the end of the 'season' as a number of shops indicated that they would be shutting end of Oct until Xmas the Xmas break and then again until Feb - many of the hotels were already closed. We had brilliant weather and took advantage of it to explore some of the fantastic gardens without the crowds. Can't imagine what peak summer season would be like, but for us it was a lovely relaxing interlude. Must mention that driving up the western approach to Bellagio from Como is quite terrifying at times as the locals tear around the very narrow roads at speed.

fabulous positionPosted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: Italian charm
Cons: Kettle in the room although power points sparse - bit of English TV wouldn't go a miss
Location: Perfect with boats just across the road to all parts of the lake and restaurants and bars all around
This hotel has a lovely decaying charm about it with amusing 'plumbing stories' at breakfast. The position is fantastic. We paid extra for a lake view. The furnishings are old fashioned and there are no frills such as a kettle or bottles of water in your room but none the less I really liked the unfussy Italian feel to it. There is no lift so it wouldn't suit those with mobility issues. As the hotel is in the main square on the lake, with a restaurant underneath there can be some noise although the music provided in the restaurant occasionally is excellent. The restaurant is frequented by some of the smart set - especially at lunch times. Breakfast is fresh breads, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and as much coffee as you care to drink.

GREAT LOCATIONPosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: LOCATION AND ATMOSPHERE
Cons: SMALL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED , TOWEL RAIL NOT SECURE SHOWER HEAD BLOCKED TYPE OF THING
Location: CHILL AND RELAX AND PEOPLE WATCH , TAKE A FERRY ACROSS THE LAKE JUST TO EXPERIENCE THE VIEW
PERFECT LOCATION, IF YOU BOOK A LAKE VIEW ROOM. WONDERFUL OLD CHARM CHARACTER TO THE BUILDING BUT BOTH BUILDING AND STAFF COULD DO WITH A BIT OF TLC. CONSIDERING ITS LOCATION, IN THE HEART OF BELAGIO ITS GREAT VALUE. BELAGIO IS A GEM, GIVE YOURSELVES TIME TO EXPLORE ALL THE BACK STREETS AND ALLEYWAYS WHERE YOU CAN FIND GREAT QUALITY FOOD AND WINE AT REASONABLE PRICES.

Excellent waterfront locationPosted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Needs elevator and parking, but probably impossible given the location
Location: This has to be one of the world's most beautiful locations - take a boat trip - dine by the water's edge - just go!
Excellent location and good value, considering the average prices for hotel accommodation In Bellagio. No elevator, but staff were very helpful with luggage handling. Hotel does not have its own parking, but public parking usually available within reasonable walking distance. Bellagio is a world class place - worth putting up with a little inconvenience if you are on a modest budget.

Loaction location locationPosted Jun 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Getting to Bellagio by road is a real nightmare, narrow winding roads, if possible don't drive from Como. But once there the room we had had a fantastic view over the lake, it was a very basic room without any air conditioning only a floor fan which was not very useful. The parking in Bellagio is expensive at 18 euro per day in the street, there is some free parking but it seems to be used up by workers and locals. Overall I would find another room with better facilities and would give up the view.

Fantastic view made up for few shortfallsPosted Jun 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Perfect location, especially considering the price. We splashed out on a lakeview room - we would not have thought it worth staying there without a view. The bed was ok (firm) but pillows were pretty terrible (hard and flat). The room and general hotel condition are a bit dated, and there were a few hairs etc around the bathroom. The hot water took a long time to come through (5 mins!). Heater was on in summer - had to get hotel staff to turn it off at the main supply. Breakfast was adequate - standard Italian continental with nice coffee. Wifi was only available down in the restaurant (which you have to walk through to get to the hotel part) or on the first floor lobby. We stayed on the third floor and there is no lift - this was fine for us as we are young and fit without too much luggage but take note if you have trouble with stairs. There was some noise from outside but this settled by about 11pm (we stayed mid-week).

This hotel has the most beautiful view - right over the main square and lake. As is expected for a 1-star hotel the room was a bit basic - but had the most wonderful balcony with a brilliant view. And the restaurant downstairs was excellent!

Bellagio Suisse - beautifulPosted Sep 21, 2012
Pros: Location and the staff
Cons: Shower pressure pretty poor and wifi sporadic in rooms but all else lovely.
Fabulous service and best location! Parking a little messy however when Luisa ( owner) explained it to us we for it sorted! Lovely restaurant and so good we stayed an extra unplanned night. Definitely will go back. Luisa's warmth and friendliness made the stay and her help to find a good lake tour as a private hire was excellent.
