Good family-run hotel overlooking lake ComoPosted Jul 25, 2013
Pros: The staff made excellent italian pizza to eat in the dining room.
Location: The hotel is on top of a mountain overlooking the lake. There's a lighthouse within 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
The amenities were good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Family-run hotel.

Stunning views, friendly servicePosted Oct 20, 2011
This is the place to go when you want to get away from everything. Actually, you could spend a couple of days just on the hotel balcony, taking in the view of the lake a couple of kilometres below. Very nice, well-maintained hotel with friendly and helpful hosts and clean rooms. It's a bit of an adventure getting there from Como - first a cable car halfway up the mountain, then a very steep walk the rest of the way. Remember to call the hotel in advance to arrange a lift if you have bags. A coupel of very nice local restaurants offering home-cooked food at decent prices too.

A Fantastic StayPosted Aug 1, 2011 on Hotels.com
A fantastic small hotel located at the top of the hill just outside of Brunate. The hotel was very nice, the staff were very helpful and the views were incredible. The journey down to town takes about 30 minutes by bus but it is well worth it for the views and tranquility. A great stay! Would stay there again!

Very Dissappointed !!!!!!Posted Jun 1, 2011 on Hotels.com
After the very scary drive to the hotel with the very narrow winding road we were shown to our room by stairs on the outside of the hotel, we had booked a suite room with a lake view, we got the view, but got an apartment which was smelly, old, no shower a 3 foot bath, old food in the cupboards old personal belongings in the draws we were very dissapointed ,after complaining to the manager who was'nt very freindly we got moved to a nicer room in the hotel itself, but it was a bit late as it had spoilt our stay would not go there again .

Beautiful setting, but far from lakePosted Jun 1, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel was a wonderful experience. It sits on top of a mountain and takes a good long time to get there. The view is wonderful and the oxygen! So many trees and such clean air. Lovely birds. However, not all that was advertised. No bathrobes and no pay tv. We paid more money for this hotel because this was offered in the hotels.com description. Too expensive without the pay tv and the satellite tv offered was limited and difficult to manage with the remote controls. Very spacious room and super clean.

Brilliant service and a brilliant view.Posted May 9, 2011
Fisrt, I need to let you know that it pays to research places a little more than I did with this hotel. Because I failed to do this, I didn't realise that the taxi ride (and the gouging taxi drivers) would be so expensive. But it didn't need to be; I just failed to research it. As for the hotel, I was welcomed by a young an who was expecting me. He gave me excellent service and even provided me a meal at a good price when I realised that the local restaurants closed a little early... at that time of year anyway. The view goes without saying; it's drop-dead gorgeous. The hotel owner has excellent friendly staff working for him and he is also very hands on too. He provided me with a ride to the funicolare (look that up, it is essential you use that cable car in Brunate) with my very heavy suitcase. The room was clean and cleaned each day. The net connection fast and reliable. The breakfast also excellent. The rate was very good value too. I was on my own, but I can imagine this being an ideal place for a very romantic getaway for a few days. The only (very minor for me) negative is that the pool needs attending to, although I suspect the owner will have this fully sorted by the summer. Overall, an excellent stay and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. just be prepared for the walk frmo Brunate to the hotel, but I believe the hotel will provide a ride to the hotel from the funicolare.
