This hotel in Brunate is perched high on the cliff overlooking Lake Como. Our room had a fabulous view over the lake and city. The hotel is about 2400 feet above Como with a hair-raising drive through narrow winding roads up to Brunate. There is a funicular beside the hotel which, unfortunately, was not operating during our stay. However, there is a bus that runs to Como every 30 minutes. It is expected that the funicular will be back in operation within the next 3-4 weeks. The restaurant is great - not many choices, but the food was excellent. Breakfasts also were very good. The rooms are really well decorated with the use of glass, mirrors and painted frieze work. We really liked this hotel.

Arrived for our second stay at Casta Diva
The staff were extremely welcoming.
The place is just peaceful, tranquil, with heavenly views of the lake and a calm that is welcome.
Nothing is too much trouble for staff.

From the moment we arrived we were treated as honoured guests. Nothing was too much trouble and we had 2 wonderful nights here. Breakfast was superb, as was our fondue dinner at L'Escale. Definitely recommend as a special treat.

This hotel was an indulgence that was well worth money. It was such a pleasure to stay there , the old school style service was excellent . We found the accomadations and the food quality in the casual restaurant to be excellant. Truly a highlight to our trip to Italy,

An unusual hotel!. The bedrooms at the front are all glass so the blinds went up and down like yo yos. We were at the front so nearby houses could see in. It was a bit like being in a goldfish bowl To have any privacy the blinds were dropped but then you lost the views. .Due to the expensive local stone which lines the walls in the bathroom, there are no towel rails so get used to leaving them on the floor.
The hotel has a chocolate factory and coffee shop at which hotel guests get a discount. This was very popular with the locals due to the variety of cakes for sale both to take out and eat in. We tried a couple and they were delicious.
The hotel had a spa but was fully booked on our arrival. We did have the use of a very small outdoor pool and loungers
The menu in the restaurant did not appeal to my husband ( he is a steak and chips person) and we went to look unsuccessfully for an alternative. There was non so back to the hotel we went. The food was lovely and even my husband enjoyed his meal.
Breakfast was a feast! Each table had its own buffet and more kept coming. We asked for a doggy bag and left with a small picnic.
The staff were very good and helpful. We very much enjoyed our overnight stay

From arrival the staff were very helpful and helped me planed my week-end.
The facilities were what you would expect from a four star hotel and the property seemed well maintained.
I am one contented guess.
