Location near the lake is great. We stayed in a room to the back which wasnt cheap and was just ok. The place is old but in good codition. Breakfast was very good. Spa and pool are nice and clean.

Very Classy

Loved the classy, old-time feel of Bad Schachen. The back patio was beautiful and quiet with great views to the Lake.

A great place to get away

The surrounding area is beautiful. It's a great place to get away! The breakfast buffet is great and the pool and spa area is really nice. The building is older but they keep it in very good condition. I recommend it!

Fantastic

I'm reluctant to tell people how wonderful this place is, then it might get too popular. Some of the finest service I've ever had anywhere in the world and very peaceful. Can't wait to return!

Such a waste of money

Posted Sep 30, 2011
I have stayed at nicer low cost hotels for much less money. The head waiter was so snotty to us when we went for a cup of coffee because our room wasn't ready. This is a fairly remote hotel, which is fine--but they charge about 10.00 per day for parking--you have to pay for internet --and their fabulous breakfast--was less than ordinary. They have a beautiful location with beautiful grounds--but just because it's a grand old hotel--doesn't make it a nice place to stay--not for the money they are charging.

had better experience at a YMCA

Extraordinarily expensive for poor quality, service and standard. 7days (!) cancellation policy. The room was by far smaller than my office at work. No AC but 38C degrees outside. Bed was tiny.
