Lake Constance Vacations
Bern, the capital of Switzerland, is located 100 miles (161 kilometers) southwest of Lake Constance, while Zurich is 45 miles (72 kilometers) to the west.
From tourist hotspots to lesser known gems, the area around Lake Constance is dotted with natural and cultural attractions. For more ways to enjoy the region, try the Abbey of St. Gall and University of St. Gallen in and around St. Gallen, which you'll find roughly 12 miles (19 kilometers) to the north of Lake Constance.
Around 45 miles (72 kilometers) to the west of Lake Constance is Zurich, a regional city which is home to Zurich Zoological Garden, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and Johanna Spyri Museum. If you're still looking for things to do in the city centre, visit Zurich Zoological Museum, SIX Swiss Exchange and Fluntern Cemetery (Freidhof Fluntern) before you return to Lake Constance.
To get a real sense of a region, it's good to learn a little local history. Northern Switzerland's fine old traditional villages are a great place to start.
