Excellent hotel with views of Lake Garda

Posted May 30, 2014
Pros: Location and staff.
Location: Ideal location in Desenzano. Five minute walk to shops, bars and restaurants. Ten minutes to pebble beach and ferry terminal.
We had a room on the fourth floor with fabulous views of the lake from our balcony and similar views from the breakfast room on the fifth floor. Buffet breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold foods and was available until 10 o clock. Room was not large but very clean and lovely comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. Ideal location only minutes from a small pebble beach and the ferry terminal, also numerous bars and restaurants nearby. Our first visit to Lake Garda but I am sure we will return and would certainly stay here again.

Nice hotel close to lake

Posted May 18, 2014
Pros: The breakfast area with the views over the lake and a good choice of food. Desk staff were brilliant, friendly and informative. Really good service.
Location: Short stroll to lake and nearby restaurants. Little bit further and your at the beautiful Desenzano harbour, or catch a cruise on the lake.
Good location to explore Desenzano and boat trips on Lake Garda

Hotel that goes the extra mile

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Comfortable, relaxing areas to rest after a busy day and enjoy one or two of their craft beers. View from our balcony at night was simply stunning!!
Cons: Nothing. Perfect in every way.
Location: 2 minute walk from the lake and town. Great walks along the lake with the view never getting boring. Salo and Malcesine are great places to visit too.
We found our stay at Hotel Bonotto was just what we needed. The staff were just fantastic and incredibly helpful with everything we asked of them. They made our stay feel like we were in our own home. The room was comfortable and clean with everything we required. Our young daughter was very happy straight away, which was helped by the hotel being very child friendly and the staffs attitude towards their guests. The breakfast room on the fifth floor is a breath taking way to start your day. The view from the balcony is an amazing view of the lake, alps and town. Breakfast was great with a good selection of savory and sweet, coffee and juice machines and hot breakfast if you wanted. The location of the hotel is just outside of the town and only about a 2 minute walk from the fantastic restaurants. We ate in a different one every night of our one week stay. Its a great base to have if you are wanting to tour the lake and see the sights that this great part of Italy has to offer. This was our 3rd trip to Desenzano to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We got married here too and love the area. Everyone is so friendly. We would like to say a massive thank you to Emanuele Bonotto and his staff for an amazing holiday and hope to return soon.

5* Service in a 3* Hotel Close to Lake & Centre

Posted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: Friendly helpful (nothing too much trouble) staff - will help and arrange anything they can for you.
Cons: Aircon switched on - down to timing our as it is on the rest of the year. In-Room tea making facilities would have very welcome!!!
Location: 5 minutes from centre of Desenzano - walking distance to everywhere.
Hotel staff were fantastic. Truely 5* service. Rooms are basic in nature, family(Quad - Bunk and double) , slightly smaller than expected but clean and perfectly satisfactory. AirCon at the end of season isnt switched on so you may need to compromise between an open window and road noise and cooking a little... Breakfast is great - good views and simple but great buffet style food. Reception lounge, bar and piano good too.

Well-appointed hotel

Posted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: Staff, cleanliness and location.
Cons: Ability to lower room temperature.
Location: Ten minute walk from town centre with plenty of restaurants and shops. Also easy walk to the port to get ferries across the lake.
Hotel within easy walk of facilities in the town. Room was clean and bed comfortable, additional storage would have been helpful. Super view across the lake from the fifth floor breakfast room. Staff friendly and helpful. Would have like to be able to lower the heating temperature - 19/20 degrees too warm at times. Main negative was the traffic noise from the road and the road sweeping which began quite early in the morning.

Friendly hotel close to Lake Garda

Posted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Breakfast room, efficient air conditioning, proximity to centre of town, friendliness of all the staff
Cons: Internet connection was sometimes slow but that would be the server's fault rather than the hotel's.
Location: Ferries and buses to many of the communities on Lake Garda. Trains to Verona and Venice were frequent. Desenzano is a good centre for shopping.
We spent two weeks at Hotel Bonotto in Desenzano in September and had a very positive experience. The hotel has been refurbished recently and is quite modern. Rooms were a little on the small side by north American standards but were very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean as were the public areas. The highlight is the rooftop breakfast room which has stunning views of the lake and the mountains. The breakfast was excellent with many additional touches such as gluten free products and a variety of different toppings for the cereal. Staff were very friendly and helpful and were fluent in English. There were several neat touches - heated towel rails and the softest, fluffiest towels I have ever encountered in any hotel. The hotel is very central, a couple of minutes walk from the lake, about 7-10 minutes from the ferries and the buses to various places in the region. The train station is about 20 minutes away, but that would be the case if you stay anywhere near the lake front. The owner took a personal interest in all his guests and made them feel welcome. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning there in the future.
