nice small hotel in residential areaPosted Sep 14, 2013
Cons: Breakfast was very boring, typical continental, cold meats/cheese/rolls, which didn't entice you to stay in for dinner
Location: Location of the hotel was excellent. It was in a residential area but close to bus stops and also supermarket and other small shops.
I enjoyed 7 nights in this very nice small hotel in a lovely residential area of Sirmione. You could walk into the old town in about 25 minutes. Only problem was public transport stopped very early mid September about 5.30 pm. However you could get a taxi for around 10 euros if necessary. Sailing on the lake is a must and I would recommend Bardolino which is great for shopping.

Good hotel, in quieter part of SirmionePosted Aug 4, 2013
Pros: Lovely meals at lunchtime and evening. Good choice.
Cons: The excessive loud music on band nights too late.
Location: Easy access to historic Sirmione by local bus right at hotel and accessible to Colombare for shops.
Only thing didn't like was the night of band in hotel, those who were not being entertained, found it far too loud and it went on till midnight. Was there for rest and relaxation and this was just a bit excessive.10.30pm would be better time to close this.

Great hotelPosted Jul 23, 2013
Location: Nice to be away from the craziness of tourist heavy Sirmione Port, but still close enough to access even by bus.

Great hotel with very helpful and friendly staffPosted May 20, 2013
This hotel was a great find. When we checked in the manager was really friendly and helpful. She volunteered lots of information about the local area and where would be good to visit. She and the other reception staff were very knowledgeable and nothing seemed too much trouble. They were always available to answer any questions or help with any queries. The hotel has bikes which you can hire for free and the pool area is lovely. Breakfast was also good. The room was very clean and was comfortable. The décor was slightly dated but that didn't really matter to us. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk from Sirmione and there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant so can't advise of the quality of the food or service there.

Pros: Clean, tidy, quiet and sper views available from the upper floors.
Great hotel in a quiet but convenient location, the two gorgeous girls on the front desk were very helpful and pleasant at all times. Marko at the bar and all the restaurant staff could not have been bettered.

Clean Hotel - Wrong Location Without a CarPosted Sep 30, 2011
We booked this as a last minute break, the hotel is in a residential neighbourhood of houses and rented villas, with a small pool and lawn areas. It is slightly economical with the actualite to describe it as being in Sirmione. The main interesting bit of Sirmione is at least 30 minutes walk away (Fast walking at that!), where you can get access to the lake ferries. Without a car, we relied on taxi's to get around, but there are hourly buses to Sirmione from near the hotel. The room was clean and the bathroom spacious and well appointed. The bed was a trifle hard, but slept ok on it. Air con worked and cooled the room sufficiently to sleep at night. Breakfast was disappointing with only tinned fruit and limited choice of cereals. Would have been improved by providing a toaster. Nice terrace to have your breakfast on. Reception staff were a little brusque and not all certain of check out times. Check-out being an early 10:30am meant we needed to leave our luggage somewhere. Hotel's response was to leave it in reception area. Not what we were expecting. Left on an earlier train instead. We wouldn't go back to stay in this Hotel.

Hotel Porto Azzurro - not recommendedPosted Aug 3, 2011 on Hotels.com
Describing this hotel as BASIC pretending to be something more than it is. It is not close to Sermione old town, something that even the staff at the reception desk claim. The walls in the rooms offer very little sound protection at 7am when the running around in the corridor starts. The rooms look old and tired - the bedrooms' decor is something from a few decades ago. Internet is offered at a ridiculous price. We found the attitude of the staff particularly unhelpful and dismissive. Few good things: the breakfast is impressive and there is a good quality tv in the room (for whatever reason you might want to stay in your room). It costs 10 Euro in a taxi to go to the old town of Sermione, but there is a good place to rent bicycles close to the hotel. Sermione is a great place to visit but not from this hotel.

Very pleasantPosted Jul 19, 2011
Hotel staff were very amenable, the food in the hotel was good and reasonably priced. To get to the old part of Sirmione we walked the 2 miles along the lakeside but there were frequent buses if required, when there there was the opportunity to catch a boat to all the places on the lake, reasonably priced. Buses to Verona were every hour and cheap, around £3 each way. All in all a very enjoyable holiday.
