Hotel sirmione reviewPosted Jul 5, 2013
Friendly staff who went out of their way to help us get to the airport on time despite a huge traffic jam as a result of a marathon . Great Central Location and good facilities.

Relaxing holidayPosted Jun 29, 2013
Pros: Breakfast overlooking the lake The helpful staff Spacious, clean room The pool and terrace
Cons: We cant find anything we disliked
Location: Location overlooking the lake was great. Spent our days on sunbeds watching the boats. Hotel location was accessible for everything,
My sister and I stayed here for five days and it was lovely. We are really glad we went to Lake Garda and stayed at this hotel. The hotel is really clean, the staff are very approachable, friendly and helpful. We had booked bed and breakfast which we ate overlooking the lake in an unrushed atmosphere. We will definately be back.

Lake GardaPosted Jun 22, 2013
Pros: View from the breakfast table. Location on the lake.
Cons: Could do with a bigger pool area and more sun beds.
Location: Fantastic plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance and the ferry dock right outside.
Great location right on the lake. Our room was the basic city view and was clean but some of the fixtures and fittings needed updating. Breakfast was good, but we went down most mornings at 10am and found some items weren't replenished that late on. I read a previous review on trip advisor and kept a rough running tally of drinks and food ordered as you can't pay cash at the bar we were glad we did as when we checked out we had been overcharged by 65 euros for a meal we hadn't eaten reception were really good though and immediately amended our bill. Overall we would definitely stay here again but only if the price we paid was as good as we got for this stay.

honeymoon heavenPosted Jun 4, 2013
Pros: location location location
Location: stunning superb beautiful
From start to finish our stay at hotel sirmione was excellent our room was a superior one and we stayed in room number 41.our room and en suite bathroom were both spacious and comfortable and our balcony had stunning views of lake garda. The staff were very helpful and informative and the buffet style breakfast each morning was plentiful. We took advantage of the free sauna spa and pool in the opposite hotel terme di sirmione which you can access as a guest at hotel sirmione and we both found it to be first class.Sirmione itself is a beautiful place to stay as we used it as a base to visit verona venice and milan the bus and rail links were very easy to use.Peschiera del garda has a rail station that connects with every major city in italy and was only twenty minutes by bus from sirmione the buses run from six am until around eight pm every day so if you do not want to drive there is no problem getting about at all. we used the ferry one day to visit garda but it was a bit more costly than the bus but if you do visit lake garda then make a point of going to sirmione as it is a lovely place and has many excellent shops and restaraunts. And if you want to stay there i can not recommend hotel sirmione highly enough!

A good hotel by Italian standards; good for bathsPosted Jun 1, 2013
Pros: The thermal baths
Location: Great location in the centre of the old town
This hotel was early on in our trip and, in general, we were a fraction disappointed. That said, after another 2.5 weeks in Italy, this turned out to be a bit better than many others, so I guess it depends on what you're used to. Great things: * (included & free) thermal baths - VERY relaxing and very nice. The reason we stayed there, so this was a positive * buffet breakfast was great - turns out there are 3, 4 & 5 star rooms/areas within the same hotel. Clearly the breakfast is targeted at the 5 star. * location - it's in the old city Good things: * by European standards the bed is large & comfortable * there's a comfortable desk & chair (this turned out NOT to be a given at other 4* Italian hotels!) Average/not great things: * the bathroom is pretty tiny & the shower has screens that come out over the floor, so this was leaky * no tea/kettle * Sulphuric smell (fair enough) Poor things: * reception staff were quite unfriendly. I asked if I could print something and they just barked at me saying it wasn't possible - of course, this is with them standing in front of a printer. I would have expected if it was going to be a no, then at least some reason. As a 4/5 star hotel though, I a) would have expected there to be one and b) would have expected them to at least offer to do it for a price (and be nice about it). They were also generally unfriendly/only OK at other times * there was no information brochure in the room about the hotel * generally tardy upkeep

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Fantastic balcony. Would definitely stay at this hotel if I were to return to Sirmione. Hotel was so convenient to get to anywhere.

Great Hotel. Best location. Friendly staff, excellent service. The room was small, but I would stay again without a problem. The other couple that was traveling with us had a bigger room. In general, excellent

Center of EverythingPosted May 18, 2013
Pros: Pool area.....Public areas....and wonderful Breakfast in an elegant setting
Cons: This hotel has the feeling of the Italy one sees in the movies from the 50's and 60's.....It is a dream and I loved it just the way it was.
Location: The location is truly lovely and just walking around or taking a picnic for the day can be magic.
Great Hotel in the center of the main tourist area. Wonderful pool area with warm mineral water and pleasent location. Staff not as proficient in English as some areas of Italy......but that can be part of the charm. It is not a hotel for backpackers.

Super location, only complain is about the elevators which were not available frequently.
