A wonderful visit to Lake Garda 2013Posted Jun 3, 2013
Pros: Location, ac cess to Bardolino and Garda.
Cons: Very small Bathroom.
Location: Situated on the lake, superb position and has own secure private parking,
A lovely Hotel set on the edge of Lake Garda, some 2km outside of Bardolino. The walk into Bardolino was easy along the lake, and Hotel being set outside Town made for a relaxing and quite stay. Staff were very nice and helpful during our visit. Hotel has it's own secure parking next door. Quality of the rooms was acceptable, but our bathroom very small but served its purpose! Location wise, this Hotel is excellent for the east side of the lake and only some 50km from Verona. We really enjoyed our time here and will return. Recommended.

Good quality hotel at a decent pricePosted May 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel Vela d'Oro was very pleasant to stay in and was exactly what we wanted. The rooms, whilst basic (which we expected - it's only 3* afterall), were very clean and well maintained. The shower worked well, good pressure and temperature, and the bed offered a good sleep. It’s right on the lake and offers some wonderful views, it even has its own pool just around the corner and a sun terrace on the roof. The only issue we really had was with the location at night, whilst offering pleasant views in the daytime, it is next to a reasonably busy road (Our room was right next to this) and near a church that rings every hour (7am-11pm) and has a single chime from 12am-6am, be prepared for an early wakeup call and bring some ear plugs. It's also a bit of a walk into Bardolino, however it’s very pleasant down the lake side. Besides that the location is good, 10 mins to Gardaland, 45 mins to Malcesine and 30 mins from Verona airport. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the service was great, the rooms were tidy and in good condition, fresh towels everyday and the breakfast was a decent continental. We stayed for 5 nights as we were visiting potential wedding venues and it was perfect for this with a private car park and good transport links - the pool also gave us a chance to relax which many hotels in this area don't offer. If we want a short stay in this area again, Vela d'Oro will definitely be on our list as we can't fault it for a good quality, well priced, 3* hotel.

Chatty. Offered us free drinks. Sorted trips for us and dealt sympathetically with our traveller issues. Really felt welcomed by them. Lovely family run hotel by the lake.
