Disappointingly bad service but clean with A/C

Posted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: Cleanish with a number of well kept pools (although they closed at only 7 pm). Kids entertainers always said hello and smiled at everyone.
Cons: Being able to have a warm shower when ever we wanted would be lovely (it kept going cold, when we complained we were told the hotel was busy)
Location: Pescheira is lovely and on a train link. I would go back to the area. The hotel was far out of town with a connecting bus (9-23:00) with random breaks
We were looking forward to our trip to Italy for months and assumed that our 4 star all inclusive hotel would be an amazing place to spend our down time. It is worth saying that larger families may enjoy themselves as food is neutral and the young staff employed to put on a show for the kids were the only ones with a smile. From my point of view, my gf and me were very disappointed. The food and drink was the worst thing. The inclusive food is served in a buffet style 3 times a day. This is fine but the quality of the food was poor and in general it was bland. For example, the cereal was the cheapest of the cheap, eggs were most likely powdered (or someone had painstakingly removed the egg whites), chicken was small and tasteless and pasta was not fresh but dried that had been bulk bought (this could be wrong but again if it was fresh someone took a lot of time to shape the pasta into some incredible forms). Not once did we look forward to meal time. The drink situation was worse. There was no fresh juice; it was all syrups. This juice was not available at lunch or dinner. No fresh coffee was available at any time other than breakfast. For the majority of the day the drinks available to "premium" guests (Parc hotel paradisos name for all inclusive customers) was cola, fizzy orange, wine, machine coffee/cappuccinos etc and water. The coke was a knock off brand and tasted funny. The fizzy orange had no orange and the wine was cloudy to begin with. I could go on and on and on.

Great for couples

Pros: Cleanliness, ambience of pool and outdoor relaxing areas, food quality.
Cons: Location. They ran out of brandy and said they would not be getting any more for two days.
Location: Not much to see at the local town which is a very busy through route to other towns along the lake. Good ferry service to other destinations.
Staff polite and helpful. All areas spotlessly clean apart from outside in the evenings when tables and floors were not cleaned until the following morning. Food is of excellent quality although not much selection of main dish at dinner The hotel is a mix between tourists, golfers and businessmen/women and for the most part this works well, although there is not much evening entertainment. No diet soft drinks available on all inclusive so take some with you as they are quite expensive to buy at the Hotel. Rooms are good with kettle, hairdryer, lovely bathroom, furnishings and balcony. Generally a very good Hotel, but a bit isolated from public transport, although there is a courtesy bus to the nearby town and train station.

A good hotel to explore surrounding area.

Pros: Very quiet as we had upgraded the room and was set apart from the main hotel. The hotel was set in large grounds.
Cons: The bar in the evening lacked character, could have done with cumfy chairs rather than cafeteria style table and chairs.
Location: Set outside of the town so you need either a car or rely on the bus service provided by the hotel which ran from 09.00 - 12.00 and 15.00 - 23.00.
1. Arriving at 10.00pm we were told there was no food available from any part of the hotel. 2. Many conferences are held there and on one occasion in the restaurant I was told that I was not allowed certain food as it was reserved for conference candidates. 3. Although we were 'inclusive' at the pool bar we were not allowed lemonade as we weren't with 'Saga'. 4. Overall the hotel was good I would go back and these comments are minor and could easily be put right by the hotel.

Great for families

Great hotel for families because of the half board and heated pool. Kids loved the novelty of choosing from a banquet. Room was excellent value for travellers who were a bit sick of going out looking for a family friendly restaurant each night. Two things to realise: sofa bed for kids ( not 2 singles) and Gardaland only opens on weekends from October. Highly recommended as a value hotel.

Despite being a busy hotel with many and varied activities available the hotel staff are very aware of the individuals requirements.
