Charming hotel in a stunning location.

Pros: Location and traditional style of hotel. Indoor pool and spa facilities. Views and gardens.
Cons: The hotel seems to be functioning on a limited budget, unless you asked you did not have toiletries, bathrobes etc, improve breakfast and more staff.
Location: located up a steep hill about a 15 minute walk from the lake , where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes. Boats are the way to travel around.
After arriving using public transport from Verona airport which is achievable by train and bus and then a rather steep walk up a hill we were welcomed by very friendly staff, We were given a standard room with lake views. Our room exceeded our expectations with wonderful views from our balcony, Although basic in comfort and only a small shower room the room did not lack charm and we liked the rather dated decor. The hotel is set in amazing gardens with a lovely outdoor pool. The hotel also has an indoor pool with sauna which we used every day. We stayed on a half board tariff and enjoyed the food offered which consisted of four courses, on some days there was a limited menu especially if you were vegetarian. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

The perfect, romantic escape

Romantic and authentic hotel set in enchanting grounds...set back from the main road and up a hill so it has beautiful views of the lake! If you stay at this hotel you have to try the spa, its small but really really lovely! Also, as we were leaving we were told about a tower were you can have aperitivo! We had a quick look up there and it was like being up a fairlytale tower...this really is a unique hotel!! I was a little worried at first due to the negative reviews, but i'm so glad i went with my gut feelings and followed through with the booking.

Stunningly beautiful, great spa and pools

Had a wonderful stay but 2 nights much too short. Romantic and beautiful. Serene and removed from traffic noise yet only ten minutes drive to great restaurants and shopping in Salo. Upper Gardone has great restaurants and is charming walking area. Recommend Angelinas - three sisters operate and food is terrific. Staff at hotel most accommodating. The very large pool surrounded by flowers and statues was fabulous. Only wish was for internet in the room as had to go to lobby to access.

Beautiful Italy, Rubbish hotel!

Pros: It's situation in the beautiful mountains.
Cons: The hotel!
Location: Fab!
The heated indoor pool and fantastic countryside made the holiday bearable for us but everything about the hotel was dreadful. The standard room we were originally offered was not fit for my dog to sleep in. Smelt musty and not used, dark and dreary, tatty old furniture, no safe as requested. We asked to be moved and the next room was marginally better, they wanted 20 extra Euros for the week tho. Musty smell, old, tatty furnishings and a toilet only a female contortionist could use. Looking round this hotel it is clear to see no annual refurbishment or cleaning takes place, all in all it had a feeling that any minute now the banks are going to for-close on this hotel.
