CarinoPosted Feb 1, 2015 on Hotels.com
Stavo giusto due notti per un viaggio famiglia\lavoro, e per quello che serviva e stato ok. Camere puite, carine, moderne. Unica cosa che mi ha dato fastidio e assenza del room service. Altro e tutto ok.

A modern hotel with a nice locationPosted Jan 5, 2015 on Hotels.com
The room (which was apparently recently renovated/renewed) was very clean and modern. The glass walls in the bathroom are not my cup of tea, though. Some minor noise from the corridor and other rooms, but no real issues with the soundproofing. The Wi-Fi was free and easy-to-use, but the reception in our ground-level room was very poor. Also, there seemed to be some issues with electricity, managed to black out the whole room by adjusting the air conditioning - the main switch next to the door helped to get things back in order. Location was quite nice, arrival/departure with trains was easy. There seemed to be several cafes right nearby, but couldn't try them since all of them were closed during our visit (the whole city was quite a ghost town during the first days of the year). A special mention for the very good and welcoming customized city guide given at the check-in.

Nice hotel but not greatPosted Jan 4, 2015
Pros: Staff and Decor
Cons: Quiet room being exactly what you pay for and running water in pipes soundproofed
Location: Olympic Museum. - wonderful free with Swiss Pass. Charlie and Oona Chaplin grave Vevey area. lausanne and Geneva
I booked a "quiet" room and was given a room on 6th floor and paid extra for the privilege of wanting a relaxing time. The first room was a lovely size but had to move due to noise factor of a really noisy child running around all night. I appreciate that children need to do this but the point was I paid extra for a quiet room and this was not and so had to move to a new room on 8th floor . This was a smaller room but was better than the larger room as another bizarre thing was you could hear the water from other floors showers passing down a pipe can you believe it right by the first bed! The shower when being used I would advise ensure the curtains are closed in main room if light on as you can see clearly the person showering. It is a touristy hotel and be careful if you don't pay for a quiet room you are placed in the rooms below the reception and near fitness centre. The staff are wonderful and deserve 5 stars but although the decor is lovely I would prefer to go to a hotel where a quiet room usually means that. I have stayed in many hotels in last 19 days in Switzerland and this is an ok hotel but prefer when I pay extra for something to get what I paid for

Hôtel agréable et original.Posted Dec 29, 2014

Nice, very clean Business style Hotel.Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Internet connection very good with dual sockets, especially handy as I forgot my adaptor.
Cons: My only negative point is very minor and that is that one sachet of coffee/tea/sugar is not enough even for one person for one night.
Location: Close enough to walk to most amenities such as the lake, town and mainline station.
Service and hotel were excellent. No disturbing noise from street or even from the nearby lift central to everything and close to train station and metro.

Wonderful business hotelPosted Dec 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
If you're visiting Lausanne on business and need a good hotel, stay at the Agora. The hotel is in extremely good condition from the lobby to the rooms to the breakfast restaurant. Staff are very nice and accommodating. I stayed in the smallest room available but there was plenty of space. Everything in the rooms looked new and was spotless after cleaning each day. Rooms don't provide a view of the lake (you need to go to the breakfast restaurant for that) but what you do see are well kept buildings in an older section of the city. The wifi works well most of the time but does suffer slowness every so often. The fitness and sauna area on the bottom floor are as nice as seen in the photos. All the equipment works and is in excellent condition. The breakfast is a little pricey (but that's Swiss food in general) but offers a variety of items so make sure you're hungry. Metro access to the M2 line is less than 2 minutes walk east of the hotel so getting around is very easy. Neighborhood is nice (even at 4am heading for the train station). Overall, an excellent hotel for a business trip. However, the one thing I will ding the hotel on is the bed. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever attempted to sleep on. They are extremely hard and with only one pillow, my first nights sleep was terrible. The silver lining is to go to the front desk and ask for another pillow. Next time I'm back in Lausanne, I'll certainly stay here.
