Nice hotel by the lakePosted Jul 28, 2014
Beautiful, old school hotel. The staff is great, beds are big and very comfortable. Very beautiful hotel. The negative is the parking of the hotel is expensive (40$ Swiss Frank/day - but you can use public parking next to hotel). It would of been nice to have a coffee machine in the room but it is not common in Europe. I highly recommend

Luxury stay in an outstanding hotel.Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Relaxed and refined and peaceful.
Location: Perfectly located on edge of town. Bus stops outside for travel to Montreux or Villeneuve or into town centre for the station. Lovely lakeside walks.
From check in to check out nothing was too much trouble. We opted for the Superior room with a courtyard view and was not disappointed. Although no lake view we had a view of the town. Lovely room beautifully decorated and church bells as a backdrop. Room not huge but very elegant. Do not miss Sunday bbq buffet in the garden. Superb. We will be back.

Perfect accommodation near MontreuxPosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Hotel; lake view; comfortable room; breakfast
Location: Montreux Jazz festival; Geneva lake;
At the time of the busy Montreux jazz festival, Vevey and this hotel is an excellent option for enjoying Montreux festivities without the noise and buzz of the surrounding crowd. The charm of Hotel du Lac makes it perfect for a very stay and rest between concerts and musical events.

Absolutely delightfulPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Rooms, service, pool, cleanliness, food
Cons: More English newspapers in the lounge
Location: Vevey quiet, nice museums, a few shops, lovely places to sit and have coffee. Montreux 15 minutes on a free bus, Lausanne 20 minutes on train
From a wonderful welcome on arrival, through to great food and service in the restaurant, clean spacious rooms and a lovely pool, staying at the Hotel du Lac was wonderful. The staff are friendly, the bar drinks great, and the location fantastic. I don't think I can find fault with anything. I was looking for a relaxing 5 day break and this hotel delivered. In particular, the quality of the staff shone through consistently, from a great welcome, the restaurant and bar staff and front desk always ready to help. Its a fifteen minute gentle walk into Vevey or a free bus outside the hotel which is along every ten minutes. Perfect for a relaxing break from real life.

Well traveledPosted Apr 23, 2014
Rooms very hot. When asked to help cool room ,found out air condition is set on 21 degrees the lowest it will go . They sent someone to room who turned it off and told us to open all windows and leave them open. Not what you expect form a 5 star hotel . Also beds so hard they were very uncomfortable
