Friendly hotel close to town centrePosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: It's a hotel with character, not a bland glass & conrete building. It does not pretend to be anything other than a B&B, which is sufficient.
Location: Local market on Tues & Sat has plenty of local fresh fruit, veg, & meat products. Wine market on Sat in the summer with local wine.
Have stayed at this hotel a few times over the last 15 years or so, and it caters for both tourists & locals. It has always been well run & the staff are friendly. As it dates back to the 19th Century it has plenty of character, so don't expect ultra-modern facilities. The breakfast is typical continental style, and staff are always on hand to help if required. Wi-Fi is free, and hotel offers a local tourist card which offers discounts on local attractions, as well as free public transport in the area.

Cubbyhole of a roomPosted Jul 29, 2014
I was surprised at the really tiny room, where I could get off the bed on only one side (I could not even walk around the bed). I am suspecting that because I went through Expedia instead of directly booking with the hotel, the desk attendant (who grumbled about it) put me in the smallest room possible. If you drop the soap in the shower, I say don't try to pick it up. :-)

Good servicePosted May 29, 2012 on Hotels.com
Decent little hotel. The staff was very helpful. It's definitely not a 4 or 5 star place but totally decent for what it is.

The hotel was comfortable, convenient and well-run. However, we feel that the price of the room was too high, compared with other hotels we have stayed in in Switzerland

Budget accommodation, convenient location but ....Posted Jul 19, 2010
This hotel is conveniently located right next to Vevey railway station, but the railway is a main line and busy 24/7. My room was on the railway side and noise from trains would disturb a light sleeper. The noise from the railway can be very loud at times, especially with freight trains which can run late at night. The street side is the quieter option. The service on check-in was better than expected. My room was clean and well presented but a little small with no mini bar and minimum facilities. There was only one pillow which was rather small and unyielding. Breakfast was basic continental type and adequate. Close to all public transport, convenience stores and major outlets. A short walk to Lac Leman and lots of restaurants. In all a good basic place to stay if you don't expect too much and are a heavy sleeper who doesn't eat a big breakfast!

Nearliest hotel from railway stationPosted Jul 9, 2010
The hotel reachs strandard level quality. I've just two complains: The bed matel was too soft, i'm not used to. And the brekfast service for week-end is too late. It starts at 8:15.

Hotel de FamillePosted May 14, 2010 on Hotels.com
The hotel is right at the railway station (the announcements are clearly audible at the station side of the building) which makes it very noisy for those that are sensitive to sound. This is a basic but very clean hotel and breakfast is simple but more than adequate. The bed sheets and duvets feel like cotton, are beautifully ironed, and are changed almost every day. Towel supply is generous. The pool is not a reason to stay unless you are 1m tall. (10m pool)
