Nice hotelPosted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: The location, nice area and very close to the train station.
Cons: Nothing, we were comfortable
Location: I will recomend a boat ride to any of the small towns around the lake. We wen to Evian, very nice
Walking around the city can be difficult because Laussanne is on a hill and the streets are very steep. Is set up like layers, you climb to a certain level and is flat until you go to another level. There is a walking tour, get a map from the hotel, is a nice walk, you get to know most of the old city wich is very nice, just take your time and enjoy it. * One tip, if you walk to the hotel from the train station, you have to climb a lot of stairs, but there is a ramp on the left side of the street, much better if you are pulling your suitcases.

Dear Guest, we thank you for your message and your advice! For the hills, our city is like a small San Francsico, with many hills, but unfortunately without the bay and the cable car!! We hope to welcoming you another time in Lausanne!

Quiet and centrally locatedPosted Jul 13, 2013
Pros: Quiet, close to startion
Cons: Steep walk from station
Location: 5-10 min walk from Lausanne gare
Hotel is quiet - good for older couples or business travellers. It's a familty run hotel which for me is more pleasant than a chain. The hotel is located in a quiet street but very close to Lausanne station and metro. But it is a steep climb from both. My room was very clean and I liked the wooden panelling. The weather was very warm and there was no air conditioning. There was a fan in the room but the sockets were not in useful places for a fan. I had a minibar/fridge with enough space for me to keep a few items of food like cheese and fruit. The breakfast is typical continental with no cooked items - but no shortage of food and a quiet experience at the start of the day.

Highly recommended.Posted Jun 2, 2013
This is a family run hotel, it is charming & quite unlike the chains. Centrally located close to the station, although a short but steep uphill walk or climb up flights of steps. The hotel staff were very pleasant & helpful. The free travel card is really useful & gives a large area to explore. Free Wi Fi and an available PC. Our room was large & very comfortable with big windows & a flower edged balcony to enjoy, the bathroom was huge, beds comfortable, nothing additional needed. Breafasts were very good.

Very Adequate Hotel, although overpricedPosted Aug 28, 2012
Hotel was clean and adequate, nothing special for the price, the breakfast was fine for the first day. Staff was nice and helpful, although it was annoying to pay for the interenet connection for the room and then I was traveling with a friend and they charged you for each connection separately. So overall the hotel actually was nice, I just thought it is overpriced. Short walk from the train station overall quiet.

Excellent hotel all round.Posted Sep 23, 2011
Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were clean and spacious. Lovely to have a balcony. Good breakfast, nice fresh bread. Located just a short walk from the station, no need to get a taxi. Would definitely come again.

Hotel Elite is in a great location for theboth the old town and lakeside. You can walk to it from the railway station in 2 minutes, even with a bag or case. The Hotel is not flash or trying to be something its not, it is a very clean, well maintained comfortable Hotel. Breakfast is very good continental style and lots of it. We enjoyed our 4 nights there.

Would gladly return and recommend this hotel.Posted Sep 9, 2010
Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Location near the train station couldn't have been more convenient for arriving and departing and for getting around the city on the Metro. Very nice rooms. Since there was no air conditions, the room included a fan which was very welcome when it was very hot in Lausanne. We didn't have to ask for it (which happened in other Swiss hotels) which was very nice. Reasonable and breakfast was a good Continental breakfast.

Luke WarmPosted Sep 6, 2010
Hotel comfortable and clean. Plus point the smal shady garden and quiet area. Access to the hotel although not far from the station is not particularly easy with cases - very steep up-hill walk. Area around Ouchy on the lake would have been a better choice because of frequent and easy to use metro from the station.

Pleased with our choicePosted Oct 12, 2007
Room met with our expectations. Outdoor balcony area was very nice. Comfortable bed. Hotel staff were helpful. Outside parking for cars. Good location from where to explore the town of Lausanne and Ouchy. Bus service runs down to Ouchy if you don't fancy the walk (particularly the hill on the way back up to Lausanne!)

ImpressedPosted Sep 10, 2007
Efficient service at reception and a very comfortable room. Our balcony gave excellent views over the roof tops to Lake Geneva and the Alps beyond. The hotel is close to shops and restaurants in the city centre, but is in a quiet location with parking available.
