“Very good hotel, no lake view”

The Nash Carlton lives up to its 4 star rating. The hotel is not near the lake, so no lake views, but it is right outside the Delice metro station, so very convenient to public transport. Reception staff very helpful. 24hr public transport pass was provided by hotel on our arrivial free of charge, plus a good map of Lausanne. Free WiFi throughout hotel - works well. Rooms very tastefully decorated and a good size. Excellent buffet breakfast, though somewhat expensive (25 CHF pp - this is Switzerland though!).

“A classic!”

Very nice room, cosy and "bourgeois". Parking at the front. Close to everything. No need to have breakfast or dinner there, there are cafes and restaurants nearby. The place is refined and quiet and Lausanne is such a lovely place.

“Very comfortable and friendly environment”

Very hospitable staff, very comfortable & clean rooms and very easily accessible from the train station. Everything is just too good.

“Perfect location to visit Lausanne”

Very good location near the metro so you are able to be anywhere in Lausanne within minutes. Very clean rooms with great service. Will be staying there again next time.

“Elegant hotel downhill from train”

comfortable, clean but a little stuffy, i.e., stiff, i.e. a little too elegant and expensive for dirty backpackers from Italy, but we got such a good rate with Expedia and that's why we felt "outclassed." Front desk very helpful, good English. This hotel is downhill form the train-station and right next to what will be the new tram connecting Ouchy with Flon.

“More than expected”

Very nice hotel that is within walking distance to the lake. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a little difficult to get close to the property at first because of construction on the road in front of the hotel.

“Nice place to stay”

The hotel is located midway between the train station (10 minute walk uphill)and the lake. There is not a lake view, but our room had a nice sized balcony on which we had our morning coffee and evening glass of wine. We stayed in the "standard" room, and the room was decorated nicely. Although it was a small room, with no more than 2 or 3 feet clearance to walk around the bed, it was a nice and quiet room. The bathroom had a tub and was newly renovated in marble. The staff was very nice and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay.

“Good choice”

Clean hotel in convenient location near public transport. The rooms were very good with nice bathrooms and balcony on first floor rooms (2nd floor if from US). Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choices but the price was like everywhere in Europe high at Euro 20 per person. The beds were a bit hard. I would chose again if in Lausanne.

“Reastaurant”

After a 400 mile drive a meal in the hotel restaurant was being looked forward to. On arrival we were informed that they had closed the restaurant. As it happens it made us venture out to find something else, which was actually very good, tapas overlooking Lake Geneva. Lesson learned!!!

“Comfort & convenience in Lausanne”

Overall the Nash Carlton is comfortable, clean and very convenient --close to railway station, old town and lake. One downside was that the hotel entrance has steep set of stairs and no elevator, so those with heavy luggage will find it difficult to manuever. Inside, a small elevator is OK for transport between floors. Staff are helpful, proffesional, efficient, and fluent in English. Bedroom was small, with very little closet space (bed sagged noticeably on one side), but bathroom was spacious and well-appointed (towel warming rack, large tub & shower, plenty of towels). Mini-fridge in room is convenient for longer stays.
