Queensbury Hotel - comfortable , reasonably priced

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Arrival & Check-in was quick and easy. Breakfasts at their garden cafe was terrific. Cocktails & Dinner at Fenimore"s was tasty and featured live music. And the Queensbury was close to other nice restaurants and retail shops. Indoor pool & adjoining Hot Tub was large and clean. Exercise room was modest, but sufficient and clean. Room was nice, large and air-conditioned. We had a very nice, 4-day stay.

Old standby with faded elegance

Posted Jul 31, 2015
I stay here every summer. I find it convenient to local restaurants and a great walking trail as well as the family I'm visiting. A solid choice. Families will enjoy the indoor pool.

Old Hotel, Nice Charm

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: Spaciousness, pet friendly
Cons: Food
Location: Hiking, Lake George
The Hotel has clearly seen better days, but the upkeep is noticeable. The room was large, comfortable and clean (though I had a pet allocated room and had some eye and throat itchiness related to cat hair). The staff were helpful and I feel unfortunate not to have used the pool or jacuzzi.

too little for too much

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: nice area
Cons: thorough cleaning of rooms
Location: were only there to sleep after shows - travelled north during the day
in town for weekend shows at SPAC - thought it would be good to be a little ways from craziness of S Springs. room was quite small - coffee pot had to be placed on a nightstand that had what I hope was milk spilled all over it... bathroom very small with no fan for steam. 3 tissues in box. not even complimentary hot beverages in morning - $2.50 for tea bag and small cup of hot water... room air system was very loud.

Hotel is well situated to the downtown area.

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: The age and condition of the hotel was very good. It was easy to locate with excellent parking
Cons: Carpets
Location: A good location for downtown walks etc.
Enjoyed the stay even though it was advertised as having a FREE continental breakfast. However, the staff said that wasn't offered any longer. Nonetheless, we had two breakfasts there and both were excellent. We also had an evening meal and it too was simply excellent. Great service great food. We were given a back room overlooking the roof behind the hotel with all the air conditioners or heaters on it. It certainly was not a room with a view!! Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Queensbury.

Unacceptable size of shower

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: I actually prefer a newer hotel. This one is old and does have charm. The room furniture is not typical hotel furniture. I don't see it as a 3 star.
Cons: The size of the shower!!!!!
Location: I was there for a family reason, did not try to locate things to do.
The hotel was fine, the room was large and clean. The shower, however I don't think was as large as a phone booth. I have never seen a shower that small. I am not a large person and I felt cramped in it. You couldn't get your head out of the water, so as soon as you tried to shampoo your hair, the shampoo was washed out again. It was cramped and uncomfortable. I can't imagine why a shower that size was ever considered.
