Best hotel in Glens Falls.

Pros: The indoor pool and on-site masseuse go a long way towards making this a relaxing stay.
Cons: The hotel staff could be more inclined to customers' concerns. I am bitter that they did not correct my double charge when they were informed by me.
The public areas are very well furnished and maintained. The rooms need to have their furnishings updated, particularly the carpet, walls and curtains. The in-room air conditioner was outdated and difficult to adjust to the comfort level desired. This could be a 4 star experience with improved furnishings. I was disappointed that my credit card was double charged. I informed the front desk clerk and the accountant during my stay but the double charge did not clear until 8 days after I checked out. This is the reason my overall rating is only a 2.

Dear Guest, Thank you for the great review of our hotel! We are constantly refreshing and renewing our look in order to provide all of our guests with the amenities that travelers are looking for these days while keeping the unique charm that is the Queensbury Hotel. As far as the issue you experienced with your card that really is your bank. Upon check-in to the hotel we will authorize your credit/debit card for the amount of your stay plus $50 more in the event you want to sign something back to your room. This is standard practice at every hotel in America. then upon check-out from the hotel is when you are actually charged and the hold is released. At that time it is up to your bank as to how long it takes for the funds to be released by them. I have seen banks that take up to a week to release funds that were authorized for a charge. If after a week you still don't see the funds back in your account then you should call your bank directly and speak to them directly. Hopefully in the future we'll see you again and you can see where we have made improvements. Sincerely, Adam Kelly

Good location but very dated and run down.

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Location and bar
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: Some lovely little restaurants in this small town. Great Japanese restaurant and burger restaurant with its own brewery!
Perfect location for town amenities and the bar was great with live music on Friday night. Unfortunately the bathroom and shower had lots of black mould which could have been sorted out with a bit of bleach. Carpets were also badly stained.

Lovely old hotel

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: I liked the price, it was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. We could walk to other restaurants
Location: 20 minutes to Saratoga Race track. We walked to several nice resaurants
We stayed here on a trip to the Saratoga Races Track. It is only about 20 minutes form the track and much less expensive then staying in Saratoga Springs. We ate breakfast at an outside table at the hotel restaurant on a lovely day. Another day we walked to a local breakfast place.

The room and hotel were old and not in good condit

Posted Aug 5, 2014
the room and hotel are not what the pictures and reviews depicted. hotel and room were delipatated, breakfast was not included. I would not even rate this hotel. The rate was costly for no amenities. I could not compare this to a sheraton or wyndham. The bathroom and shower had no grab bars or protective shower mats.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Pitoresque hotel in quiet town

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Staff's training and knowledge about the area
Location: Saratoga Springs is nearby and worth a visit. George Lake is also close but crowded and commercial. Williams Fort is expensive and not worth the money
The hotel has the atmosphere of old European hotels. The rooms are large and filled with light. The furniture is not new, but has character. The dinner at the hotel's restaurant was excellent, the breakfast not so much, but the patio is a great place just to sit and enjoy your coffee. The restaurant staff is friendly and relatively unexperienced, but they manage to make you feel at home. For a different dinner experience you may want to try the local brewery place. Saturday they had live blues music and the food is nicely paired with the fresh beer. The downtown coffee place (Spot) has an excellent coffee and it is a got alternative for breakfast, though the atmosphere is a far less memorable (and less expensive) one than the hotel's restaurant. Glenn's Falls is a nice and peaceful town, but do not expect to find an impressive waterfall. Apparently it's place has been taken by the power plant long ago and only a shadow has remained; the desk staff we asked about the Fall did not even know where it would eventually be.

Dear traveler, I want to thank you for taking the time to provide your comments regarding our hotel. It was a pleasure to read that your experience with our staff was pleasant. We here at the Queensbury take it personal when it comes to guest satisfaction. Also we are currently working to improve our hotel through renovations while still keeping the unique charm that you see throughout our grand hotel. In recent months we have completely renovated our dome window over our pool and laid new carpet in (5) of our Banquet rooms. We are scheduled to replace the carpet in our lobby also. Hopefully we will see you again and you can see for yourself the improvements that we are making. Thank you! Sincerely, Adam Kelly
