Carshow getaway

Posted Sep 8, 2014
I've been coming to lake George for a longtime and I never discover this place. It's quiet, close to the village and shopping areas. It's a real great place to coming to relax. The rooms are a bit dated but the scenic views, horse back riding and swimming makes up for that.

Rooms were huge and very comfortable. The hotel is a lil dated but that adds to its charm. Good price in a great location...we would stay there again

Nice location, mediocre resort

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Workout facility. I saw the stables but no horses.
Location: good location in woods.
The resort boasts to be bountiful with things to do but in reality the place is run down and needs updating. Such as the brochure looks outstanding but when you compare it to the actual property it is way over-rated. The location is great though. The workout room is from the stone ages with only 2 things that really work, the stepper and the treadmill. Yes it was clean but I do not feel that the property is anything but mediocre.

Would not likely return

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, reasonable rates, close to the lake
Cons: Needs tons updates. Was probably built in the 1960s or 70s and never remodeled.
Location: Very close to the beach and village and LakeGeorge fun. Also very close to highway.
The buildings were old and very dated and though the rooms were basically clean, there was a terrible smell of mildew and moth balls that was unpleasant. The carpets were very old and very stained in places and I couldn't walk barefoot on them because I found a foreign long blonde hair stuck to my foot on the first day. The outdoor pool was a bit dirty and grungy and the indoor pool area smelled so terribly of must and mildew that it was hard to breathe. I have been to a lot of Lake George motels and many of them are like this so I wasn't that surprised but I would definitely look for something newer the next time I travel there. Staff was friendly and hard-working and the condition of things was not their fault but the entire place needs a major overhaul.

Pros: Horseback riding was good. Nice horses and nice guides.
Cons: Almost everything.
Location: Lots of things to occupy yourself in Lake George.
Not nearly as nice as it looks and sounds in the advertising. My room was in an old building and was very damp and musty. Cold at night with no heat. Coffee wasn't available until 8 AM. Dining room and lounge never had anyone in them. The outdoor pool was so cold you couldn't even get all of the way in. The only good part was the horseback riding but then again they didn't have it on Monday.

Room had a very musty smell. Tub did not drain.

Location: Lake George was great / convenient location
I would not stay here again. It was clean, but the room had a very damp, musty smell. The entire place needs a facelift.

Very good scenery

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Hotel scenery very country and very beautiful if you want a place to goto relax. Hotel room was terrible it was like if I were in the 1800 western life. The room has a broken glass covered with duct tape. It smelled like a smoke house. Room looks as it hasn't been upgrades in years.
