The thrill is gone

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Cons: Service
It may be that we have been here so many years in a row that the novelty is gone, but I would call our stay disappointing. Even though we were upgraded to a new category called premier? which included breakfast. The desk staff were great. The restaurant downstairs, not so much. No one answered the room service number and when I went down and ordered, I stood there for 45 minutes waiting for salad.

Nice place for kids...

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: Staff, location
Cons: Cleanliness, humidity level, general state of the water park area
Initial thoughts were very good. It's a big place with ample parking and restaurant attached. It's very close to town, and has a friendly staff. My son LOVED the place, my wife and I were a little disappointed. Our room (126, first floor) was VERY damp. Even with the A/C on the whole time, the feeling of dampness wouldn't disappear. This was weird and not very comfortable. Everything else regarding the room was normal, nothing else stood out. The water park portion was fun, but could use a MAJOR renovation! There is rusted metal that's been painted a hundred times on some of the stairs leading to the various sections of the "park", so sandals or water shoes are a must. Something to think about if visiting with small children, the slides are all height specific (for obvious reasons) so you might want to call before booking to see how many slides your kid/s can go on. My son was limited to 2 slides, which REALLY was unpleasant since he wanted to go on a few others. There are plenty of life guards on duty, although some of them look very young and others seem severely out of shape... All in all, we had a decent two day visit. There is no way any parent will want to sit at the park portion for the entire day, it's very damp and humid. I wouldn't visit for more than two days, the town has a lot of other hotels.

Pros: water park was great
Cons: cleaner rooms and more accomadating front desk people
our room was very dirty, loose tiles in the bathroom, big red stain in the middle of the carpet and black mold growing in the bathroom, when brought to the front desk attention nothing was done, to make it right, now I am home with a sick child from being in the room with the mold, I have also emailed the hotel directly and have gotten no response to being compensated for the room. at the price we paid verrrrrry disappointed.

What a great place for kids

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: EVERYTHING
Cons: The rooms are not sound proof, I could hear the rooms next to me and above me
I loved the hotel, the staff was wonderful and helpful, the characters that came out in the lobby and danced with kids in the lobby was great. I loved the little kids playhouse in the room

LOTS OF ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, OK rooms.
Cons: Food sélections should offer vegetarian and vegan choices. Road to get to the hotel is often clogged by traffic.
Location: Close to all the parks.
Great indoor and outdoor hotel to stay at. The 4th floor has a breakfast station for take out to the room which is OK. The SPA is surprisingly good. Lots to do and nice ambiance.

Nice hotel within walking distance to the park

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: the location to everything and the indoor water park plus accessibility to the six flags great escape. Johnny rockets downstairs very affordable
Cons: the water park was cold as well as the water have surf lessons before the park opens on the surf rider lines were long for that got 5 tries per pers
Location: Great Escape Six Flags factory outlets olive garden johnny rockets interstate 87
Was great. Parking and tickets to the Great Escape included was a great deal. Would definitely go back again for that deal and the indoor water park was awesome although a little cold and small the kids had a good time Johnny Rockets downstairs turned out to be an added bonus as the prices were very reasonable. Could have an earlier check in time they hold you to the time exactly at 4 and not before although you can do pre-check in which we had done but would have been nice to check in earlier and get settled.in our room before heading out to the parks especially after a long drive.

Pros: Close to parks-that's the best part the beds were comfortable.
Cons: total room renovation
Location: close to parks
the door to the room was very difficult to close. there was a broken lamp that I had to unplug to turn off and plug in to turn on, the room smelled too clean for me-way too much cleaning supply poison in the air, the windows did not open and close properly. wallpaper peeling off walls, lousy water pressure. bathroom products were same as $49 a night motel.
