Pros: The efforts to upgrade were obvious.
The hotel is good, like I said a 4 out of 5 and pleasing is a great term to describe it. The management is obviously putting money into the place to clean and upgrade the inside and out. Did not go into the restaurant but the food smelled inviting. So, the cliental was less than desirable. The bar area is nice but hosted a rough crowd which obviously included ladies who appeared to be working the crowd. Kinda reminded me of a truck stop. No problems, but definitely the potential for same. I cannot really place too much blame (if any) on the hotel because this is an area that supports the oil industry and there are literally thousands of contract laborers staying in and around the Sweeney area. Over all pleasing stay, no problems with the hotel or staff it self.

Pros: How the Bar kept me up all Night and the lack of hot water.
The Cherotel is actually an old out dated Clarion. The pictures posted on expedia looked great so I booked one night for my business trip and one night was too long!!!! I was not at all impressed with the bed that felt like a rock. The Bar opens up to just about every room in the place so your hearing drunks shooting pool all night and bottles breaking in the trash can. All and All I got about 4 hours of sleep to wake up to a shower that had no pressure or hot water!!!!! I wont be staying again!!!! They got me, Dont let them Get you!!!!

Stayed for 4 nights for business. The frond desks ladies are rude, like they hate their job. A housekeeper came one day before checkout and tried to get in, even tho the "do not disturb" sign was there. She had an attitude and asked if I was checking out that day. The breakfast was sloppy. The lady was very nice tho. The hotel felt dirty, and the room had this weird smell. Found a small roach in the bathroom. Towels had some stains on them. The carpet felt dirty. I obviously did not enjoy my stay. Even when for the most part I was out.

Terrible Checkout ExperiencePosted Feb 13, 2015
The front desk refused to give me a receipt when checking out because I used an online site to book the reservation. The last thing I wanted to do was argue at 520 am. I had to go to the online site and request a copy.

better options down the roadPosted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: lobby area had free coffee. Our room was very spacious. Pool table and bar inside hotel.
Location: We loved eating at Lake Jackson Seafood restaurant.
We didn't enjoy our stay. We were trying to sleep around 1am when I heard loud voices yelling across the indoor courtyard. I walked out of the room and over to the front desk to see what the problem was. There were two families that appeared to have just check-ed i. I didn't understand the language they were using so not sure what they were yelling about. The sad thing is the front desk clerk never tried to get them to be quiet while I was there. I asked one lady to be quiet, but it didn't work for long. The ice machine is was sent to by the front desk was broken. It looked like it hadn't worked in a while. Our room was very spacious, but the bathroom felt tiny and it clearly needed some mildew scum remover. The breakfast did include eggs, bacon, and waffles. However, the taste wasn't that good. The waffles didn't have syrup. The bagels didn't have cream cheese. Inside the hotel had a strange musty smell to it. Also our room had a strange oder to it. I think this hotel may have been a top of the line hotel 40 years ago, but not anymore. Spend a little bit extra money and find something else.

Never againPosted Jan 31, 2015
The hotel has a large foyer with a bar on the first floor open from 5pm-midnight. My room was all the way across from them and I could hear drunken people yelling loudly. The walls are thin and the doors slam. My room was decent although the bathroom is tiny. They offer free wi-fi but it would frequently cut out on me. They offer a gym which has 1 treadmill, an elliptical and some bikes. None of them work. When I went to the front desk, the lady came to the gym with me and tried them. After she saw they didn't work, she called maintenance who told her the treadmill was not working, but everything else should be. She told me she would let me know once they do maintenance on it the next day. They never got it fixed.

Hotel was good for the price. The place has definitely seen better days, But it looks as if they are making improvements a little at a time. The hall carpet was stained. The ice machine didn't work. and the bed was very firm. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. I upgraded to a suite when I got there. It was worth the extra $20 for the full fridge and couch. Most of the other guest seemed to be contractors there on an extended stay. Its not the ritz. but I was clean and I felt safe.

Pros: It's location, room cleanliness and staff..
Cons: All was well with the accomodations.
Location: Good location and accessability to the expressway.
The hotel location was only a few miles from our family, and close to the mall and other venues of interest.
