Hotel was nice, good locations etc.

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Location and security. Good breakfast.
Cons: Air Conditioning and warn folks when getting a room on the street side where the tour buses park.
Location: Easy walk to Lake Luzern, shopping, banks, market right next door. Walking distance to restaurants, train station and so much more.
The room was nice and could have been comfortable had it been air conditioned. It was so hot and the little portable fan was not enough in fact "why even bother". Our room was overlooking a Tour Bus Parking Lot- needless to say it was very noise. The beds were comfortable enough for European standards, just too hot and noise for my likings. They offered a very good breakfast, lots of food and great coffee machine. The night clerk who checked us in was friendly enough. Did not have much to do with the others. The cleaning crew was super, one day we did not get out of the room, we had the do not disturb sign and they left us clean towels etc. we did not even ask.

We stopped in Lucerne only for a night while on our way to Mount Titlis. So, if you looking for a short and sweet stay in Lucerne this is the right one - you can visit Lucerne lake, the dying lion, chapel bridge everything, all are just a walk away. It was beautiful to take a stroll along the lake side, without worrying about how to reach back and there are quite a few eateries just on the road where you can grab stuff. Commute isn't a problem at all. Only Breakfast does not have much variety and there is no electric kettle in the room but you can go pick up coffee/tea from the breakfast area till 11pm so not a problem. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Good, clean hotel in a good location.

Posted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Location, clean, staff and breakfasts.
Cons: Too warm, odd key system was a bit of a pain.
Location: The lake is approx 3 mins away with boats etc. The shops are about 1min away with plenty of restaurants.
I stayed here for four nights. It is a nice clean hotel (if a bit warm, but maybe that is just me). The staff are friendly and speak almost perfect English. It is aprox 10 min walk from the train station in high heels and is handly located for the town and restaurants. I would recommend and return.

Great location!

Great central location for everything - Dining, sightseeing, "take away" food, shopping, transportation. Room was clean and spacious, altho missing a few amenities which could be found in the U.S, such as ironing board / iron and numerous outlets. Staff was cheerful and very helpful. Nice free breakfast. Altogether a great experience!

Sleepless in Luzern

Posted Aug 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
A small room without air conditioning when it is over 30 degrees outside surely is a recipe for disaster. And beds being equipped only with a pair of thick comforters! But they charge you tourist fees on top of the already inflated price. I do NOT recommend this hotel if you travel in summer. The good points, however, are: a good buffet breakfast and the location 10 minutes away from Chapel Bridge and just across the street from the Panorama exhibition. If you come out the door and turn right on the first little street, it will take you up to the old city walls where you get a beautiful view of Luzern. This town is a nice place to visit and stay the night -- and while you're there, make sure you go to Mount Pilatus which is spectacular.

Grüezi Corina Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for your experience, catched us during the very hot period of the year. Usually it is a question of 4 weeks in the summer and we are triying to help with a fan in each room. Due high demand are the rates in the city and the summer higher than in the low season. We would be looking forward to welcome you on maybe another occasion. With best Regards Ferdinand Zehnder and Ambassador Team

Reasonable hotel

Posted Aug 12, 2013
I booked this at the last minute, and it was very hot. Please note that the hotel is not air conditioned. The room included a desktop fan, and windows which tilt inward for about 3" of courtyard air circulation. The staff was pleasant and the room was clean. The hotel was in a good location, not too bad of a walk from the central train station. The hotel keys are rather odd as it is a very large heavy key which you then swap for a smaller door key at the lobby "switchboard". The lobby is on an upper level of the building, and the elevator is very small, so I would not recommend this hotel to guests with disabilities as it may be hard to get in and out, particularly with luggage in the very tiny elevator. We were offered a free welcome drink at the hotel's restaurant (Laupin) which is connected to it's sister hotel.

Great location, small rooms

Posted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed here for just one night in July and the staff and location was great. There was no air condition so it was kind of hot but there was a fan. The room was small but cozy. Breakfast was good. But parking was a bit expensive. Overall a nice place to stay for 1-2 nights in summer due to lack of AC.

Grüezi Thank you for your comment. Sorrry for the missing AC. We do experience just a few weeks of hot summer here in Lucerne and due to clima and environement we are not planning to install an AC in he future. This year we will increase the amount of fans and hope to make the stay of our customers more confortable. Hope to have you back once again. With best Regards Ferdinand Zehnder and Ambassador Team
