Not worth the money!Posted Jun 12, 2014
For the price, we could have done much better. There is no view of the lake because there is another building between you and the lake. The balcony overlooks a very busy road and the back of the hotel is train tracks. You know you are in trouble when they provide ear plugs. For the most beautiful city in Switzerland, there must be much better places to stay to insure a great experience.

One to bookPosted Jun 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The four of us enjoyed our stay here. A little crammed in the family room though and in the bathroom. Shame the people in the next room continued to smoke on their balcony because we then had to close our balcony doors to prevent smelling the smoke. Really disappointing situation. Breakfast was perfect but a little crammed in. Not happy to have to pay for parking though. Didn't get much of a lake view like we thought we would. Staff were lovely.
Comfortable, quiet and a valuePosted Nov 12, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very comfortable, right next to a bus stop into town, very convenient. The view was gorgeous, mountains, lake and a quiet setting. Breakfast served at hotel, nice variety of good quality foods. Hotel across the street provides dinner, very high quality, again, good setting and service. Staff were very helpful. This would be a repeat visit.

Very GoodPosted Jul 2, 2012
Cons: The road in front of the Hotel is very busy so cannot leave balcony open for long.
The Hotel staff was very helpfull and friendly. The Hotel is just 5 min away from the city centre which was vert convenient. Lovely place and the Lake is just across the road where you can go for a walk.

Hotel Bellevue LucernePosted Aug 31, 2011 on Hotels.com
Slightly too far away from the City, but bus/taxis convenient. Staff friendly. The name is slightly deceptive, as the view can only be seen from the top of the hotel. Even though it's by a railway, you can't hear it.

Poor value, poor qualityPosted Jul 31, 2011 on Hotels.com
Despite high marks, we found this hotel to be very disappointing. There is a much nicer hotel right across the street for a similar price...and view of the lake. The hotel was clean and staff initally friendly, providing snacks and information about Lucerne. Since there was no air, the hotel provided fans. However, the other family travelling with us experienced electrical problems in their room and could not get the fan to work. Despite notifying the front desk early in the day, no effort was made to correct the problem. Moreover, the hotel is located near a busy highway and opening windows for comfort also created noisy conditions. We booked two quadruple rooms each family of 4; however, we received an email just as we were leaving the states stating a booking error made it necessary to put our families in regular rooms with 4 beds....at the same price. We were told we had a larger quadruple room upon check in; however, we believe they just stuck two portable beds in a single room. In addition, the portable beds appeared not to have bed sheets...just a matress cover. Overall, our experience was not pleasant. We checked out the hotel opposite the Belleview and wished we would have stayed there...for not much more money.

Hotel Bellevue - good base in a beautiful city!Posted Jul 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel which is six stops on the 24 bus from the rail station. Buses run frequently and stop close to the hotel. Our Swiss Rail passes meant we didn't have to buy bus tickets. We'd booked a basic room but were given a lovely large corner room with a balcony overlooking the lake. The reception staff speak good English and were very helpful. The road in front of the hotel is quite busy. The ensuite shower room is a bit outdated but clean and functional. There were thoughtful touches such as sweets and a Good Night box with books, eye mask, earplugs etc. Also we were given a welcome drink and snack plus vouchers to help ourselves to a hot drink in the evening. A fan is provided but there is no air-conditioning as such. There is also a small fridge containing a variety of drinks for guests to purchase. We would be happy to stay here again if we go back to Luzern and it's well worth considering for a city break.

spotlessly clean; very convenient; super value for LucernePosted Jul 5, 2011
Hotel Bellevue, as its name suggests has wonderful views of the lake. Additionally, it has access to swimming plus access to a larger restaurant at a sister hotel across the street. Very friendly and helpful staff made the stay pleasant, but the outstanding cleanliness of the room was exceptional. Beds were comfortable as was the room. The weather co-operated too so that we could sit on our balconey and enjoy the twinkling lights on the lake and on the surrounding mountains. Excellent walk-ways are right outside the front door and these will take you almost all the way around the lake or up into the steep hillside, or, right to the centre of the old downtown which is maybe 2.5-3 km away. With church bells chiming in the distance it's easy to pretend you're in a fairy-tale land.

Great for families with childrenPosted Apr 27, 2011
We booked this hotel because they allow 2 children 2 adults in their "family" suites (2 full size beds in the room)...rare in Europe. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast included was good, great expresso machine. Very close to a bus stop to take you to/from downtown...very easy. We enjoyed drinks on the patio across the street (on the water) at their sister hotel...beautiful view, very relaxing. Sister hotel also has a small playscape for kids. Just note that the office closes at 10pm (need your key). Lucerne is out of a fairytale book....what beautiful mountain views.
