Bell' Albergo a 2 passi dal centroPosted May 29, 2015

Nice hotel close to the old town and Chapel BridgePosted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: Spacious rooms, quiet neighborhood. Helpful staff.
Cons: Sparse amenities, wifi on top floor was not useable
Clean and convenient to the major downtown sights. Within easy walking distance of the Franciscan church and the famous Chapel Bridge. The Lion Monument is also reachable by a 30 minute walk.

What You Would ExpectPosted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Nice room. Modern elevator. Great breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Felt secure. Walking distance to the train station.
Cons: Double bed was two twins pushed together. Light in bathroom is motion activated. There's no way to visit the bathroom without it on.
Location: Close to train station. Close to Chapel Bridge and other historic sites.
The Drei Koenig (Three Kings) is a good, basic hotel experience. We use hotel rooms like this to sleep and bathe, not somewhere to lounge around and otherwise spend time. The room we stayed in was large, perhaps too large (if that's possible). It was exactly what we were looking for.

Decent Hotel, a bit outdatedPosted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, great breakfast
Cons: Furnishings need to be updated. A little paint and new carpet could go a long way.
Location: Well located - close to old town with plenty of restaurants nearby. Walking distance to the train station.
The hotel is decent. Nice location, easy check-in/out, friendly staff, comprehensive breakfast. The major thing you'll notice right away is how dreadfully outdated everything feels. From the carpet to the furnishings to the beds to the paint, it just feels OLD (in a bad way). But its clean and comfortable nevertheless. I would stay again.

Good if you get a good rate; some things a bit oddPosted Feb 28, 2015 on Hotels
OK, but just a bit odd. Fairly quiet - it's nice to be not on a very busy street (so, it's a 15-20 min walk to the train station). Roomis quite large, 2 twins together as per usual. Only synthetic duvet available; pillows are feathers & fairly thin/soft. Mattress - very soft, not a pillow-top on top of firm, but piece-of-foam-no-support soft. Chemical sensitivity: OK. Worst was the automatic-turn-on light in the bathroom, with absolutely no way to override; all lights are flourescents, and toilette paper mounted such that the lid *will* fall down on your backside. Heat was adjustable on the radiator, but not responsive. Windows are very sound proofing, but if you want real quiet w/ open windows, get a room facing away from the street. Breakfasts are standard fare for Swiss hotels with a comparatively good selection to some other Swiss hotels - meats, cheeses, eggs hardboiled and scrambled, variety of cereals, breads, etc. Tomatoes were nice and fresh/red; sliced cucumbers also. Condiments were greater variety than sometimes found (including nutella and mustard in addition to jams, etc); chicken noodle soup & rice, prosceco. *HOWEVER*, having eaten breakfast alternating very late and very early over a week, fairly clear that what was leftover from one morning was put out the next. Rice at 6:30am had dry bits at the bottom of the steamer. Prosceco was completely flat. Coeliac options: they had gluten-free rice crackers available, no GF bread.
