Lovely hotel outside LucernePosted Jul 10, 2014
Weren't sure what to expect as this hotel is about 5 minutes by train from Lucerne main station, plus about a 10 minute walk from the local station. However we were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel and our room. The staff are friendly and the restaurant that is part of the hotel serves excellent food.

Excellent hotelPosted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: The people, the restaurant, the room, the ambience.
Cons: Air conditioning would help but to be honest I never asked if they have it so I don't know whether they do or not.
Location: I took a boat ride on the lake in Lucerne to Vitznau and then rode the cog rail train up Mount Rigi where there are excellent views.
The room was fine and clean and what I would expect for a nice place to stay for a couple of nights. The only problem I had with the room was that it was warm and stuffy but at my request I was provided with a fan that solved the problem. There is an elevator and good WiFi. As an American I find it to be amazing that ice cubes in Europe are almost never available and there is no word in their language for ice cubes.. This hotel had them and for that I give them an extra star. I thought the restaurant was a five star. The atmosphere was top notch and the food was excellent. With this restaurant I found the prices to be high but I found that to be true wherever I went in Switzerland. The walk from the train station with my luggage is a little far but doable. (I'm 85 years old). I think it's about a 10 minute walk. From the the train station it is about a fifteen minute ride to the center of Lucerne which is great. Being out from the city center, this hotel is more reasonably priced. The train runs once an hour at half past the hour and if you have a watch that doesn't keep good time and you want to set it, go to the train station and when the train comes in you can set your watch and be sure that it's half past the hour. The hotel staff were very friendly and courteous and spoke very good English. When I am in Lucerne again I will stay at this hotel.

Great short stayPosted Aug 17, 2013
Pros: Clean,modern upgrades
Cons: No Air Conditioning
Location: Nice parks and river across the road
Nice staff and nice spot with easy access to the trains into the city only a 5 munite walk down the road. Only disappointment was now air con but a fan in the room would have done the trick to help with this. But a great short stay all up. Oh and a top little Breakfast also.

Very nice place to stayPosted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location is an 8 minute train ride away from the main train station in Lucerne. The last train back to littau leaves at 16 minutes after midnight. The only complaint I would have is that the window in my room did not open and it was very hot that weekend

Nice people, ungenerous barPosted May 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
I liked this place, but I went to the bar and ordered a glass of wine and it was the smallest glass of wine I've ever been charged five Euros for, I doubt it would have been 100 ml.

Delightful and awesome value!Posted Jul 13, 2012
Location: Just 10 minutes drive from Lucerne central, a very nice quiet location.
Terrific value all round. Great restaurant with nice food. English speaking staff. Right across the road from a wonderful forest with walking trails and a river. Wonderful photography.
