Pictures do not match the current state of the rooms available. Many rave reviews here - that seem greatly exaggerated as we did not have a great experience. It was 95 degrees outside, our air conditioning was between 75-78 at all times, even though we had it set to 64 it was never below 75. Price/quality not a match - overpriced for the state of the hotel rooms and what is available. The beach is 850 meters away - takes maybe 20 minutes in the summer as it's hot. Our special request written in the notes regarding accessibility was ignored and front desk staff said it was not received. If you have a special request, call them directly.

A peaceful stay
The hotel staff was warm, welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is right opposite to lake and the ferry stop. The Rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. The only negative I have to say is regarding the breakfast. May be that is due to Covid guidelines but the breakfast was not a buffet but more like a handout where the breakfast was served by staff from behind the counter which does not gives you the liberty of selecting your food at own time. Also, there was a long queue for breakfast (again I think because of COVID) Apart from this, there is no negative for the hotel. I will stay here again if I travel to Verbania again.

Everything perfect. The only downside was thin walls in between guests, we could hear everything...and I mean everything going on next door!

It was ok
I had a good night’s sleep. The only downside was the strong smell of smoke in room 425, it wasn’t fresh smoke but smoke accumulated on the soft furniture. Breakfast was ok but the eggs weren’t very fresh (expiry date very close) and the orange juice was fizzy. Other than that I had a pleasant stay, the staff are polite and friendly. Thank you.

This hotel was a total surprise for us, in a positive way. Great value, very clean, excellent service, we got a basic room that was comfortable. The location was great, near restaurants and the boat stop. We would stay there again. I recommend the breakfast option.

Room with a view of the lake.
Great location, room with an amazing view facing the lake. The staff were very helpful and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. They also had great recommendations for dinner.

Fabulous locations the lake, very short walk from the town centre, a comfortable quiet room. Very helpful staff. Meagre breakfast for the price though.

Great location
This an ideal 3 star hotel for those who don't need swimming pools or spas. It is located directly opposite the ferry stop giving easy access to other towns and islands. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity. Suggest booking a lake view room.

Great Hotel close to the Ferry Pier
A perfect location just across the road from the Ferry Pier, We had a Lake view room which was spacious and comfortable. We could not fault the Hotel in ay way which gave us an experience far above the 3 star status. Unreservedly would recommend as an ideal hotel for exploring Lake Maggiore,while Pallanza itself still retains an individual charm -certainly we far preferred it to Stressa.

Came across Verbania accidentally. Got off highway to use wifi and find a room further south. Drive around lake and decided to stay the night. Paolo at the front desk was awesome with info and politeness.

I'd give it 4 stars without hesitation
Excellent quality hotel for the price, with spacous, modern renovated rooms and a nice and friendly service. This hotel could easily go for a 4 star hotel if it had it's own parking and maybe minibars in the rooms. In fact, I have seen way worse 4 star hotels in Italy than this 3 star hotel. It is situated right in front of the lake and the old town, so really about the best location one could wish for. Parking is easly available on the public parking spaces in front. We had a very nice stay in this hotel.

Lovely location
Good hotel in general Comfortable facilities and excellent room size. Fault with bathroom light was fixed promptly. Only problem was rally was taking place opposite the hotel which meant the view was partly spoilt, and parking was restricted due to tents etc. erected on car park. We did not know of this in advance. We still enjoyed our stay.

Sea view room
The San Gottardo makes a convenient base for exploring San Remo and around. The sea view rooms give an excellent panorama. The nearby secure parking is also a great asset. The only thing that marred our stay was a throbbing pop concert on the sea front until 1130 pm but the hotel cannot be blamed for that.

Great location in beautiful Pallanza
We booked this hotel on the basis of recommendations on the net and weren't disappointed. Although our room wasn't the biggest we got it for a very good price and so can't complain. The hotel is perfectly located and the pizzeria next door also comes recommended.

Nice little hotel, one fatal flaw
The flaw is the air conditioning situation. When we complained to the front desk by phone the first night that it didn't work (and it was 85 degrees and humid outside and inside), they transferred us to engineering which blew us off, and after that no one would even answer the phone. We did stay the planned 3 nights and survived by opening the door to the balcony, as the night air eventually cooled us off. After we left and mentioned this problem in their eval form, they answered in an email that the AC is not turned on in June except "on request". Make of that what you will. The room and hotel are clean and modern and the location is directly across from the ferry terminal, making for a busy street but certainly convenient, and providing a great view of the lake from the front room balconies. Parking is only catch as catch can in public spaces nearby., and none on Fridays. Breakfast is minimal. Overall we found the staff to be friendly and helpful except for the AC.

Ottima accoglienza e professionalità di tutto il personale , bellissima la posizione , strategica per il centro città e per l’accesso all’imbarcadero proprio di fronte all’albergo.
