Nice hotel

Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: It was quiet.
Cons: Gym
The gym is awful, only a few pieces of cheap equipment place in an old function room. Hotel staff and room are lovely.

Lovely hotel in the Grand Tour Tradition

Posted Jul 28, 2013
Pros: We could take a drive or boat ride to a different town in the morning. we could spend a quiet afternoon by the pool. The staff are fabulous.
Cons: We had difficulty with getting a wifi signal. The staff was very helpful in trying to solve the problem.
Location: Lago Maggiore is a feast for the eyes. The Lido Palace location on the Lake as well as its proximity to the Baveno town center and access to the boats.
We enjoyed a relatively reasonably priced, comfortable Lake View room with a small balcony. The view alone was worth the price of the room. Lago Maggiore is a feast for the eyes. The Lido Palace location on the Lake as well as its proximity to the Baveno town center and access to the boats available for trips to other towns, islands, gardens and Ascona and Locarno Switzerland was perfect. We could take a drive or boat ride to a different town in the morning and spend a quiet afternoon by the pool. The staff are fabulous, especially Paolo and Elisa. Roberto and Ramona were delightful too.

Elegant and relaxed in a stunning setting.

Posted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: The lake view, make sure you pay extra for a room at the front. You won't regret it.
Cons: Checking out to go home...
Location: Absolutely perfect location to enjoy Lago Maggiore and the Borromeo Islands.
If you want contemporary soulless comfort you can find it anywhere. If you want character, charm and a little history it is harder to find. I admit I'm biased, we went on holiday to this hotel in 1990 and had a magical two weeks, and our recent return for our silver wedding anniversary was perhaps as much in search of those wonderful memories and magical moments as it was to celebrate our 25 years. But... ...the hotel is a classic old villa, with lovely shady cool areas around the bar and reception where you can escape the heat when the sun gets too much for you. Or if you prefer the heat you can relax by the pool and take a dip whenever you need to cool off. But its more than that too. Its the setting, the location, lovely Baveno, the three wonderful islands, the ships and boats on the lake, the cafes and restaurants, the food, the wine. And the wonderful friendly people. I accept that not everyone will love this hotel the way we do, but they should. They really should.

Lovely grand hotel in beautiful area

Posted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: Stunning views from lakeview room and very friendly staff
Cons: Nothing really, decor and gardens could do with a bit of tlc in places, but still very charming.
Location: Between Baveno and Stresa, easy walk to Baveno and short drive to Stresa, both nice towns for eating, Stresa better for shopping. Best area to stay.
Lovely grand hotel, stately communal rooms with interesting history, and very friendly staff. Pretty grounds with nice pool, stunning lake views. Stunning views to Borromeo Islands, which must be visited!

Room with a View

Posted Jul 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is a magnificent building, excellently-maintained, with an unusually courteous and attentive staff. The views from the windows are breathtaking. From Baveno it is easy to visit all other places of interest on Lake Maggiore.

Baveno Lido Palace

We found the Lido to be refreshing, peaceful, and elegant. Great location, phenomenal views of the Lake and Mountains. Great service, very personal and accommodating at every level. I am returning sometime soon and will definitely stay here again.

Classic grand hotel that may have seen better days

Posted Jun 26, 2013
Pros: Staff + the grand hotel ambiance.
Cons: Lots of things are out of date, like the dining facilities and the downstairs ballroom.
A lovely location, but the hotel has an odd feel of a place that the well to do used to patronize but no longer do. Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. It's not particularly good value for the price.
