“Great example of Scandinavian design and service”

Scandic are in the process of renovating this hotel (ask for 1st floor if you want a new room, as at Sept 08) but even the older rooms are clean and tidy (if slightly small). However the great service, tasty breakfast and beautiful Scandindavian design of the public areas make up for any quibbles about the older bedrooms.

“Well worth a visit.”

The hotel is situated within the main shopping area of Nykoping and close to the airport, railway and bus stations. I had booked a superior room which had double bed which could be converted to twin, with a sofa bed in lounge area, mini fridge and LCD TV in both bedroom and lounge; and en-suite bathroom. Decoration and furnishings are of a high standard, with the usual Scandinavian style. Excellent breakfast and evening meals available in house but there are also plenty of restaurants within Nykoping to suit most tastes. Extremely professional and pleasant english speaking hotel staff will take very good care of you during your stay.

“Highly recommended”

A friend recommended this hotel as the place her international business guests stay and I can see why. It was within walking distance of everything in town. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. The shower was the best we found in our five-country tour of Europe. The restaurant and lobby were exquisitely decorated. The hotel and staff put a great face on Sweden for us.

“Very Good Hotel”

The staff in this hotel were very friendly and helpful, not only speaking very good English but eager to help me with my attempts at speaking Swedish. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was really good too. Highly recommended.

“Nice hotel in city center”

This hotel is conveniently located in the city center of Nykoping. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel has a selection of bicycles available for use.

“In need of Refurbishment”

There was a vast difference between the quality of the hotel's public rooms and that of the bedroom we stayed in; it was cheaply furnished and shabby - especially for a **** hotel. The staff, however, were extremely helpful and all spoke very fluent English. the situation of the hotel so close both to the station and the small town centre, was ideal.

“Disappointing”

Very friendly staff and first impressions of hotel were fantastic. Lobby and bar/restaurant areas are beautiful. However i was very disappointed with the quality of my room. Would not say it was 4*, closer to 2*.

“Not a bad hotel if you want to be centrally located”

Hotel location was great -- right next to the main st, and very centrally located. Room size was a bit on the smaller end. Booked a king size bed, but their "Swedish" king size is equivalent to our American Full size bed (maybe a little wider, but definitely not an American Queen size either) -- so for couples who are planning on staying here, I would definitely recommend the King size bed. The beds were not that comfortable -- mattress was pretty thin. Hotel service was pretty good considering they only had a few staff -- had to a wait a bit, but they were all very nice and courteous.

“Four Star?! You must be joking!”

I booked this hotel as a one night stop-over and was very disappointed by the standard of my "4 star" room. Well it was perhaps 4 star in the late 1970s when it was last re-decorated...It was clean but that's all I can say in its favour. It was also very loud and I hardly got a wink of sleep the whole night. Okay so it was a Saturday night but it was still exceptionally bad- it sounded as if the whole town was camped outside my room until about 4.30 am! The breakfast was good with plenty of choice but all and all I would recommend that you give it a miss.
