View not accuratePosted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: The bathroom was outstanding
Cons: The room shouldn't have been listed as lake view
Location: The Black Bear restaurant was fabulous! It is a must go!!!
The room was suppose to be a lakeview but the view was blocked by the pool! The room was very nice though!

Great hotel close to everything.Posted Apr 7, 2014
This hotel is great, the beds are super comfortable and the bathrooms are amazing. Seriously, I didn't want to get out of the shower. If you are looking for a place to stay in Lake Placid, this is it.

Good hotel for the area. Good value for money.Posted Mar 19, 2014
Enjoyed our stay on a skiing vacation. The only issue we had was the pool, which has is little run down and being unsupervised, we had a lot of kids running around and making it uncomfortable for someone trying to enjoy the hot tub.

Hotel is nice, Motor Lodge is just OKPosted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Hotel room was OK. Beds were OK, bathroom was very dated.
Cons: Booking a hotel and then getting a motor lodge is deceptive and needs to be changed
I went onto the Expedia website and booked this hotel, thinking my stay would be in a nice hotel with a restaurant right downstairs and a nice indoor pool and workout room. When I arrived, my room was not in the hotel and not as pictured, it was in the Motor Lodge across the street. The room was OK, but it was not the main hotel. To me, that is deceptive. The motor lodge is across the street, is older than the main hotel, has an indoor pool and rooms have a view of Mirror Lake. Its comparable to a Days inn or Comfort Inn, which is less than I expected. Which would be nice in the spring or summer, but not so much in the winter.

Nice propertyPosted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Quality room furnishings and a good corner location in Lake Placid
We stayed a couple of skiing days at the High Peaks and really enjoyed the property. Parking is easy - a fourth floor room and the outdoor fourth floor parking level made access in and out with ski boots and luggage much easier than using an elevator. Nicely appointed rooms with a balcony and a view across Mirror lake and the mountains.

great location...walking distance to shops/diningPosted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Location, Dancing Bears restaurant, welcoming lobby area
Location: Super location...right on Main Street. We walked everywhere including around Mirror Lake! The location was close to the olympic skating oval /museum
The hotel was conveniently located right on the Main Street. We planned on doing many of the "Olympic" activities such as the bob-sled run, skating on the oval, going to the museum as well as the ski jump area. We also planned on going for a dog sled ride. In all of our planning prior to choosing Lake Placid, no where was it advertised that many of these activities were available on weekends only OR for only limited times each day (e.g., skating on the oval was closed Tues and Wed and only open 2 hours in the evenings. In fact, many of the shops in town were only open Thursday to Sunday! We did not plan to ski but should have as that was one thing available always! Whiteface mountain was only a short 10 minute drive from town. In all, we enjoyed some well needed family time and loved the town. Our hotel was great as well...pool, free parking and Wi-fi as well as cookies and coffee at check in. the fire was always burning in the cozy lobby with plenty of comfortable sitting areas for all!

Great hotel in the middle of Lake PlacidPosted Mar 15, 2014
Our family enjoyed a nice 3-day ski break in Lake Placid, while staying at the high Peaks Resort. Staff was friendly and helpful and we would recommend the resort to anyone planning a trip to enjoy the Adirondack region.

Location, location, location!Posted Mar 14, 2014
Pros: Location, amenties.
Location: In the winter there is skiing right in front of the hotel on Mirror Lake, cross country skiing at the Olympic Park
The perfect location for all your LP activities! Plus...Jamielynn at the Dancing Bears is the best bartender ever! Make sure you go see her for Happy Hour! Seriously though, the hotel was great, amenities exceptional..we'll be back for sure.
