Ok as a last resort

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Parking is terrible, not enough spaces for the number of rooms in the hotel. Wifi didn't work. TV remote on the ancient tv didn't work. Even a lamp with a burnt out bulb. The room was clean so if there are no other rooms available in Lake Placid then it would do, but not worth the price

Great Location, Right On Main St.

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: Hot water delivery to 6th floor! Quite down the Karaoke!
Location: All of Lake Placid's shopping is right out the front door. Mirror Lake is right across the street. Lake Placid Trolly system is right out front.
Older hotel that has had a recent face lift, though still shows its age. I had no trouble parking, but the parking lot only holds 35 vehicles and they have 92 rooms. Get your spot early! Did not get the room we paid for (1-king, 1- single, non-smoking), but did get a king room with kitchenette. Room was very clean but did have a slight smokey- musty odor that got better with the very small windows opened. King bed was alright with a bunch of extra pillows which was great. My two biggest gripes: 1- Even though this room was six floors above the bar, it was very loud (windows closed!) on Thursday Karaoke Night. Did not get any sleep until well after 2am when the place quieted down. Friday night there was a live Blues Band, but was nowhere as loud as the Karaoke night crowd. 2- Took over 10 minutes (yes, I timed it!) to get hot water even with the 2 sinks and the tub/shower on full hot! Can't believe they would have no upper floor hot water heaters and would send all hot water up six floors! What a waste of water and whatever fuel they use to heat it. Any plumber knows better than to do that! Second night was not as bad as there were more guests on the floor. Pluses: 1- Location was great! 2- Both the Blues/BBQ (Delta Blue) restaurant and the Cabin Grill (breakfast) were good. Enjoyed them both. The decor in both (especially the Cabin Grill was fantastic! Nice breakfast buffet Saturday morning. 3- Staff that we dealt with was friendly and very helpful.

Nice hotel very conveniently located to town!

Exactly what we were looking for. Not overly fancy but was a great price for the proximity to town and overall stay was great.

Close to Arena

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: Maybe a little updating in the rooms.
Location: Right on the main street. Lots of shopping within walking distance.
Stayed while my daughter was at a hockey camp. Very close to the arena. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean.

Comfortable King Bed!

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: sleeper sofa and could use crown molding and upgrade decor.
Great location, fantastik comfortable king bed. The pull out double sleeper sofa needs replaing... mattress sags in middle...okay for 1 person, not the most comfortable. Older decor, but clean enough. Picture online is deceiving! You may not get what you expect. Roof top patio is closed for repair... not foretold in online booking....disapointed.

Lake Placid Hotel

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The cleaning. Updated to the rooms.
Location: Training for marathons.
We were not given the room we reserved in the first place. We reserved a Kitchenette suite but we were given a double standard room. Since we had reserved a kitchenette room we had bought food for 2 days which we were oblige to throw away. The staff did not help nor seem to care at all. Very disappointed stay.

Located right on the main street of lake placid in walking distance of restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is in need of a renovation.

Great view, and very clean room

We were very pleased with our stay. The room was spotless every day, the bed was comfortable, and the location of the hotel was ideal on main street. We will be staying here each time we come to Lake Placid.

Main Street Location

Pros: Located in the heart of Lake Placid. Love the room layout. Very clean. Nice staff. Charming facilities. Cons: "Thin walls" (can hear hallway and street noise). A bit outdated. No hair dryer.
