The best people I’ve ever experienced. The people running the hotel were so nice. We were given the lower floor of a separate building and it was super convenient. Very clean and maintained. Though a little old fashioned, we enjoyed our stay.

Our favorite place in LP!
Hands-down, this is our favorite place to stay in Lake Placid! We had a room with a kitchenette (fully stocked with dishes, pans, etc.) overlooking the pool. The tub had jets (much to the delight of our 4-year old son). It was extremely clean and the staff is incredibly accommodating, offering to light the fire at night and even bringing out roasting sticks for s'mores. It's right off of the Ironman run course (down IGA hill). Low key, spacious, and exactly what we needed.

If you must
We stayed for one night, last minute, it was a Saturday night so paid almost $200 for the room. The building is old, but the place is clean. The sheets, comforters, mattresses, towels are old. Towels are small. Mattresses are old spring ones and are not comfortable at all. The place is quiet at night, our view was nice. We didn't use the pool or the kitchen. Just needed a place to crash, but should have crushed in downtown Lake Placid instead.

Their are nice things about the Inn. We expected more from our stay judging from photo of big beautiful house. The caretaker was pleasant and helpful with sharing tourist attractions and good places to eat.

Nice place
We arrived late to Lake Placid (snowstorm) and Sarah was there waiting for us and made sure we were ok. The rooms are rustic looking yet with modern features. The jet powered tub was a welcomed relief after a day of snowboarding at Whiteface. The location is very close to all the attractions but far enough for peace and quiet

Great location with a family feel to it!
Nice motel that provided the necessryamenities to make my trip comfortable and affordable. They had wonderful staff who were always available for any questions on the area. I was within walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go, such as the Olympic Center, and the villahe of Lake Placid Overall I had a very good stay.

Absolutely loved it!!!
We had a really great stay!! We booked a suite with a kitchenette. It was like a mini apartment. We had a balcony out to a beautiful scenery and a jet tub! The owners are really friendly and they are pet friendly. The hotel was very clean and we will definitely go back. As the pictures show i is a little outdated looking by the furnature but who cares about that?? They have WiFi, and it's clean and comfortable!! Quiet too!! Hands down the best place we've ever stayed.

Great deal for the price.
The staff was very friendly. The location to downtown was great. For the price the hotel was a great stay. The atmosphere is a little outdated. However everything works and is very clean. Definitely going to stay here the next time we visit.

Labor Day Stay
we arrived late on Thursday night and the owner was there to greet us and walked us to our room. The other owner offered bandaids when my son cut his foot near the pool. We sat out in the yard with the small fire pit they had going and the owner came out yet again to add more fire wood. Really great location. Just down the road from 'IGA hill' (Ironman run course) and easily walkable into town or to Lisa G's for food. Our son is 2 1/2, so this distance was perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Prague Inn. The rooms were a little dated however very clean and neat! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with anything we needed, including directions to great hiking trails. I will be booking with the Prague again in the near future!

The Prague is a good value if all you want is a clean comfortable place to wash up and sleep after a long day hiking or skiing in the Adirondacks. They've been under new management for about a year now and are slowly making improvements to what was starting be look like a neglected travel lodge. Even under the old management, I always enjoyed the value of the Prague. There are no flat screen TVs but the ones they have work fine and there are plenty of stations. There is free WiFi and reception is mostly good. The pool is actually quite nice and is situated overlooking a beautiful wild area with a pond. The onsite manager is a great guy and will do everything in his power to make your stay comfortable. Located just down the road from the High Peak trail heads, and across the street from one of Lake Placid's finest restaurants, this is my favorite place to stay.

Our experience was quite lovely! It was a perfect room for three people, with a very well supplied kitchenette. We had a beautiful view of the little creek behind it. It is a rustic looking older inn but it was great! Slept very comfortably, we were able to hangout in the cozy room and loved it. Definitely would go back

That was my worst experience in several years. The only good thing anout room was a new renovated bathroom. Do not be allured by jacuzzi in the room, it is a 5 feet long tub with jets.I was not able to vit into it. Room equippe with >huge HD tv" - an old 25 inch analog tv that you cannot connect roku box ( no hdmi ports) . well you can use another piece of electronc - there is a Video cassette player connected to tv - i do not emember when i saw VHS tape last time. The thermostat is funny - there is a pem drawn arrows on the heater - + and - amd you need t guess... the nice view to the swamp from the window, that is called pond. The heated poll.... is closed for the season there is no walls next yo door entrance - renovation is in progress.. the kitchennete is "equipped " with dish wash - the two staff members can come sometimes and wash dishes. (if you do not foget to tip them in advance). if you need assistnce - well dress up and go to next house - there is no lobyy, no phone in the room, you need to find housekeeping by yourself

Very nice staff. Great neighborhood. Make sure to go down to the stream behind it. Room is dated, but comfortable. Heat worked, we needed it. Well worth the $130.

Our rooms were older but very clean. We were minutes from the main strip in lake placid but the setting was so quiet and serene. The pool was perfectly maintained. No shampoos or lotions were available and no telephones in the rooms but those are little things that don't matter to me. The manager greeted us as we came into the driveway and was amazing! We gave us great ideas of things to do. We are definitely going back

A night in Placid
We enjoyed our room! It was very spacious, the full kitchen was very nice. Although we left our ice in the freezer. (sorry!) The bathroom was excellently stocked and the tub was lovely. The beds were also comfortable. The only issue was the central air wasn't working. Other than that it was a lovely little spot.

Well, where shall i begin. The outward appearance of the Inn was awful .Not very inviting. Needs paint like no tomorrow. Looks like it has not been painted since the 70's. Our room was the 2 queen and 2 double beds suite. the kitchen was dirty and smelled awful! the room with the 2 queen beds had cobwebs on the ceiling! the blinds looks like they have not been dusted since the 70"s.The bed spread was dirty but the bed sheets were clean though.The (lake) in the back view is gone, it is now a stream.(time to change your description).The bathrooms looked like they had some updating but unfortunately just paint.The shower curtain had mold on it and the surround in the bath was falling apart and had mold behind it.The whole place is still stuck in the 70's and it shows! The pool was also dirty and would not let my girls swim.

The room was very dirty. Needs vacuuming.
This hotel is worth about 1/4 of the price. It is very dirty, in disrepair. When we checked in at 8:30, we had to drive to the rear and honk the horn to get the owner to give us the keys. It says pool, but it was never opened despite 80+ temperatures. It is terrible. Do not stay here.

Cottage-type rooms clean but old
The room was perfectly adequate, but there were a bare minimum of amenities. It was old, "woodsy", paneled walls, very small bath. No toiletries, see-thru toilet paper, and a 30-year old TV made it seem dowdy. On the other hand, the place was clean, warm, and the man in charge very pleasant. I suppose I would stay there again, but only if I couldn't get in anywhere else.

Decent accommodations close to Whiteface.
This is not a Marriott or Hilton, but you are not paying Marriott or Hilton rates. If you are looking for a place to stay at a reasonable rate that's real close to the center of Lake Placid and a short drive to Whiteface, you should definitely consider The Prague Inn and Suites. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, the LCD TV's are reasonably new, the fireplace was pleasant and there was a kitchenette with all the amenities. Charlie, who I assume is the owner is very friendly. Our door lock got stuck and he came out near midnight to fix it. When it was brought to his attention that there was no remote for the DVD player he went out and got one while we were at dinner. He ensured that we could get into our cottage when we arrived late by leaving the key where we could retrieve it. I would definitely consider staying again if I was going back to Whiteface.

We got the 2 bedroom suite. Took our three girls skiing. Loved the set up, but very old and drafty. No large utensils which made it difficult for cooking. Large holes in front of the fireplace floor with very cold air. Great service, nice people, but not the Hilton.

We would have been very unhappy if we had children who were looking forward to using the pool. It was NOT heated (as advertised) and generally not well maintained. The office building should be bulldozed and rebuilt. The bedroom buildings appeared solid and secure, even though there was no siding on the back walls.

Most affordable in the area, not best but GREAT
The owner lives on-site and is incredibly friendly. We arrived very early and though our reservation wasn't till 3pm he gave us the room. It was very clean both nights we were there. It's not some highend place with incredible views, but it's very close to some great places (Liquids and Solids) as well as the main part of Lake Placid's town. The rustic feel was fine with me being that we were in the mountains. I'll definitely stay here again!! PS. ONLY BUMMER: There were some hidden fees tagged onto our bill once we checked in and they weren't little ($45 on top of the $200)

Don't let the broken down offices deter you...
We read the previous reviews which made us quite unsure. As you drive up the offices are much more broken down then the picture lets on. When was that picture taken, 1950? The offices are located in this broken down old victorian, and the owner is a little odd. Credit card is taken the old fashion way. You drive around back to you room, and you see a little cottage with a number one on it. Behind that is a building on the left that is identical to the one on the right, except the one on he left is obviously vacant and beat up. Then you enter your building on the right. (Get the upstairs room!). You walk in and are greeted by a beautiful breeze from the balcony and spacious room with a fully stocked (dishes, cutting board, glasses) kitchen. Right before that is a lovely bathroom with a jacuzzi tub (the owner needs to remove the bathrug though, someone must have flooded the room and the rubber on the rug is now stuck to the floor). Past the kitchen is the best part. The balcony overlooking a quiet little lake that glistens with the morning sun. I suggest going to the local grocery and getting some coffee to brew in the room, then sitting out on the balcony to drink it. The room is clean, the beds are clean and comfy, and we ate two meals a day from our room (nice way to save)! My only suggestion for the room is that the owner install another lock. A push lock on the doorhandle doesn't provide the best sense of security. In the meantime you can just bring a doorjam. :)

Good: quiet place, room i was in was clean, price is reasonable, no one bothers you, private gravel parking, close to stores and restaurants (one can even walk to main st), non smoking option. Bad: WIFI set up could be better because code per device is just sort of ridiculous (idea, get a router and put password on it then just give password to hotel visitors), room had phone #s to other rooms but not to the main office, pictures provided online make the place look a lot nicer than it really is, while the room was clean it had moldy smell, i feel like the door lock could use a deadbolt as additional security, however, area seemed nice. Overall it's a nice place. I mean, it is Lake Place, it's touristic so why would someone want to be stuck in the room all day, unless it rains. I would recommend it. Tip: Ask for the room on the 2nd floor, because i was on the 1st floor and people above, well, more like a herd of bison stomping through the room. 2nd floor much better.

Great Motel if you are just there to sleep
Upon arrival, I was a little disappointed as the pictures and the previous reviews seemed to pass everyone's approval. The outside of the office was a little dilapidated. The owner of the Motel was very friendly and cheerful. Once I was checked in, he walked me to my room (2 very small buildings in the back of the main house/office). Parking is enough for 8-10 cars. He double checked the room to make sure it was ready and showed me how things worked. The room was very outdated, 70's décor, which gave it a dirty feel. However, I did the full bed and shower check...no hairs or wrinkles in the bedding. It was clean! The room was furnished with a Queen bed, a table with 2 chairs, a fridge, microwave and small box TV with cable. The room definitely served the purpose for me as I was just there to sleep. I was in town for a Can/Am Tournament and didn't need to stay with the team in the loud, rambunctious hotel that was located right up the street. All in all the room served my purpose, just very outdated and not as comfortable as a 4-5 star hotel. But the price was right and the owner was extremely charming. I would recommend this motel if you are just staying to sleep in the room. If you are in Lake Placid and want to enjoy your room after an exhilarating hike, then I suggest you pay the extra money and stay somewhere more updated and comfortable. I highly suggest you bring extra pillows as theirs are flat and probably from the 70's as well.

Perfect for a ski trip
We were not expecting anything, we booked last minute to ski. Our room was large with a nice kitchenette and balcony overlooking the lake. This is a small hotel with no services. Close to the ski jumps and downtown lake placid. Restaurants were close, mountain was about 10 miles away. White Face Mountain is a state park, there are no ski in/ski out condos. We enjoyed our visit and would gladly return.

As far as motor inns go, this one is decent.
Very friendly clerk. Rooms are behind the main office which are in much better shape than the office, so don't be affraid. All in all, the room was dated, but clean! Clean washoom as well. I would stay there again considering the price I paid.

My first experience with this hotel was the fact that they billed me almost a month and a half early for my hotel stay (yes - they prebilled me for my stay and said that cancellations were non-refundable). When we got to the hotel it was a bit creepy - the upstairs of the office was boarded up and the building was falling apart. I didn't even have my own remote for the TV (I had to borrow the remote from my sister's room).
